The Pain is definitely one of the shittiest boss fights in the series and I think is the only bad boss fight in the game.
Wouldn't be as bad if I had more than a 1m by 1m rock to stand on as he's hurling fucking bees at me, and my only way to avoid them is to jump into the water, and then climb back out. Over and over again.

The constant traversing into the water is so fucking annoying. Pump cancelling the shotgun takes off his hornet shield pretty quick in four shots in Extreme and you can do the same pump cancelling trick with the MK22 as well.

I just fired up Metal Gear Rising again because I didn't know what else to play. It was really fun, but it's crazy to me that such a fast-paced game is locked to 60 FPS. I really wish they'd revisit that and do an unlocked port and sequels or something.

Those pressure buttons really fucked up MGS2 and MGS3 for future gens lmao
The issues with the pressure sensitive buttons actually makes me think more highly of the idea of the remake lol
I remember struggling with the MGS1 VR Missions in the PS3 version of MGS2 (since I have to 100% everything). The time limits on those missions are tight as hell, and some of the missions require the PS2's sensitivity to pull off decently (stick up missions). And it wasn't a case of just relearn the game, it was an exercise in frustration as one of the missions requires you to stick up like 12 guards, you're in the tanker's narrow passage way, and to get decent time you need to continuously run and stick up while you run, and the PS3's sensitivity wasn't appropriate and would screw you over; and you didn't have the time to lure the guards away and stick them up individually, you could do that with maybe 2 and then run through the rest and barely make the time limit.

Wasn't as bad as the PAL (non-HDMI) version where the game wouldn't render the boxes in the mail platform of Big Shell. On Hard (or higher) one of Fatman's bombs are in one of the packages, but due to some wonkiness of how Europe does shit, if you were using the PAL version but not running HDMI (since the PS3 accepted such ancient tech); somehow the boxes wouldn't load in, and the game would be literally unbeatable.

Does MGS2 have all the Substance extras? I'm guessing the skateboarding isn't present (no great loss IMO) but I assume the VR missions and Snake Tales are there?
If it's like the HD Collection on the PS3/360, no, haven't started up my games yet. They didn't have the rights to put the Ape Escape game in MGS3 back then, and pretty sure while the Skateboarding Snake was fun, I think it's tied up in whoever holds the rights to the Tony Hawk games.

Not a Tony Hawk game.

Not a Tony Hawk game.
Going by the demo it was just a pale imitation of one, though.

I wacthed a video of it just now, this one specifically:
And it occurred to me that this skateboarding game does a better job of portraying the damage that The Big Shell goes through than the game itself. I'm pretty sure the strut blowing up in that video was supposed to have happened to Strut H (Stillman). It's my pet theory that Stillman was originally supposed to die in Shell 2 core B1, but I have nothing to back that up except circumstantial observations

And don't forget Frogger was in it.

Nearly finished my first playthrough. I just met with Eva at the waterfall and have had some bugs to report on.

I had just beat the End. I'm no more than 50ft from the tunnel that goes to the ladder and the game hard crashes.

Also, trophies are not popping. I had 100% multiple times in the Moss camo and it doesn't count. Unless boss camo doesn't figure into that?

I messed around a little with the M16. It's pretty much unusable. After you fire a round or rounds, it immediately drops the gun down. To re aim, you need to L3 it to pull it back up or if you press square you start randomly firing. I've noticed if you unequip a gun while it was in aiming mode, and reequip, it goes back to aiming. This is retarded.
