I didn't hear him mention cut music, so maybe he's just a MGS noob.
I feel like people might claim it was removed from MGS1 without realizing the main theme wasn't that prevalent in MGS1.

I'm pretty sure the actual "MGS theme" only plays during the credits when you beat the game with the tuxedo actually. For all intents and purposes, the actual theme of the game is The Best is Yet To Come.

Ok, I can confirmed that yes, the american english option plays at 60hz 30fps, tried the Spanish version and it run at 50hz 25 fps, and it felt like complete shit lol. other than that I tried MGS3, and the port works and looks perfectly, but there is no way to up the internal resolution, the game is always 720p.
This does make me wonder whether the torture scene is easier/harder on PAL.

Yo
I think the game would be more positively remembered if they didn't go so far with the shekel grubbing as to lock save slots behind buying konamibux and everything deteriorating in real time whether you play or not.
So you never played the game.

You never had to pay for save slots, what you could purchase was another base camp that shared gear and supplies, and it doubled your search parties for collecting more supplies as well as doubled your digging for base camp salvage missions. All things considered its the most generous thing they could give you since it also doubled any slots you payed to increase already for free.

Hate micro transactions all you want they are gay, but Konami was hardly being the worst offender.

If you played the game for any amount of time you would know the game has a character editor and chapters select, there is no need or purpose to save slots. Also things don't "break down even when your not playing." In fact the opposite happens your crops grow and animals produce product when your not playing. It just sits there waiting for you to collect when you get back on.

If your going to hate something do it right and hate it for real reasons.

It runs at 50? All the streamers on Twitch playing the English version all seem to be running at 50.

can anyone tell me if the actual ports are any good?

steam users are being faggots and retards and all i can see them complaining about is that everything isnt 4k upscaled graphics and that they didnt get their precious comic books and KONAMI SCAMMED EVERYONE (apparently its a steam issue and you just need to manually click "add to steam library" on the content page)

as far as i can see MGS1 is basically the PSX iso running on an emulator and the GOG version still seems like the best way to buy this game. i only ever played the PC version of MGS2, never played MGS3 but watched my friends finish it.

i've been holding off for years on finally playing the MGS series because i knew this release was coming and trying to emulate/run any of the games i always ran into controller issues. i just want to play MGS with my PS5 controller ffs

dont get me wrong im all in favour of leaving bad reviews for lazy or shitty ports but without actually playing it myself this seems like a decent port, as in its not like chrono trigger where the "PC" release is a port of the phone port which was a port of the PSX port of a SNES game

As of what I played of MGS3 it seems to be exactly as it was in the ps3, runs perfectly at 60 and loads faster than in the 7th gen. so other than having no way to change the internal resolution it is the best way to play it on pc rn.

MGS2 and MGS3 are just ports of the HD collection and they're perfectly fine, except these load just a tiny bit faster but not huge.

I made a small comparision to show how much slower the English UK option is to the English US one.

I've played up to The Pain in 3 and it works no problem, theres a steam guide explaining how to change resolution above 720. My only problems are HD port problems, like how they changed the menu controls with no option to turn it back, I'm used to using circle for confirm in metal gear titles, its muscle memory just like it is in DMC1. The weird aiming controls are the same problem but thats cause the pressure sensitive buttons cant be used. Other than that its mgs3 and it runs on a much worse computer than youd need to emulate 3 on ps2 or ps3.

Unfortunately I dont think it has steam cloud support so back up your saves somehow.

Another HD port issue that doesnt matter but I'm posting because I may be the first human to ever notice:

The handgun you have at the beginning of the snake eater mission for all of 10 seconds didn't get its textures updated.

The one Naked Snake orgasms over for comparison.

You kinda do for post game cause it multiplies your gains and challenges. That said I got em all free just from logins and participating in events. MGSV is like this too where you can get mother base tokens just playing the game, its not exclusively premium access I have all my FOBS fully upgraded without spending a penny. Obviously no paying at all is better but its closer to shortcut purchasing than anything.

Maybe an update changed things or its been so long you remember it wrong, because I just booted my game up logged into the server and I still have 9000 potatoes, corn, milk, steaks etc. And yes the character editor and chapters select are still there in the game.

Since the HD collection released on PC, I think this is as good time as any to post this with so many people playing MGS2 for the first time
Obvious spoiler warning, gives some fun behind the scene factoids if you're not aware of the game's development(like how Kojima actually build out the Tanker + Big Shell out of legos and played around with a Godzilla figure, I assume that was the "Metal Gear")
