I'd like to see another HD collection that actually includes the remastered PS ones in addition to the ones originally in the box. With less clunky controls so I can actually play when drunk.:heart-full:
That sperging aside: The series is a guilty pleasure for me more than anything, with how fucking ridic and convoluded shit could get story-wise. (It's so bad it's good sometimes, that top-shelf cheese.)
So in a way I really can't complain about the direction the games were headed in, you know?

-Nah, I'm totally going to say that Resident Evil-Metal Gear shit looks like it'll be terrible.
Is that really the first thing Sony's going to do with Kojima or is that Konami's way of shitting on Kojima's work?

It looks interesting, kinda cool. But...WHY Metal Gear? I mean, did Konami really have to make it a Metal Gear game? It couldn't have stood out on its own? Is it really so pivotal to the plot of the series? Like seriously, I wanna know what their train of thought is, because for all the shitfuckery and retcons Kojima pulled over the years, I don't really think he would attempt anything like this.

To be fair in my opinion, if Konami announced it as a new IP, there still will be complaints about "how Konami abandons old IPs" or "how the trailer still looks like shit".

I just think that if they want to announce this either as a new IP or a Metal Gear game, they did it at a really bad timing.

They only way they could have this game and not screw with the cannon is saying the whole thing was really the dying dream of an MSF member or the hallucinatory delusions of a wandering MSF member who lost his mind while Big Boss was in the hospital.

More or less, Konami put themselves in a hard place. Going the new IP route would get them bitched at but it wouldn't be as severe as this unless people were autistic enough to downvote the new IP harder than this.

I don't think this would have been so bad if it was attached to MGSV as some sort of multiplayer expansion or some bizarre dlc like Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare. All I can think of is someone at Konami thinking, "The fans don't want Metal Gear Pachinko, want us to finish MGSV and want a new Silent Hill game. I know lets make a zombie Metal Gear game, that'll make everyone happy."

I think the new game is going to be awful. Konami is switching back to videogames which, in my opinion, means their hurting for money. They are going to try to pander to fans to entice them to come back. I could easily see unnecessary cameos, rushed development, and non cosmetic micro-transactions. I'm probably just being cynical but I see this as Konami trying to desperately rebound after their business fuck up.

The funny thing is that the trailer for Metal Gear Survive still has the cinematography of MGSV with the way they handled the camera and lighting and what not. I like the cinematography of MGSV. It gave cutscenes a very unique and stylistic look. Of course MGS: Survive itself is something that makes me want to look up a wikihow guide on how to die peacefully.

So yeah, other than Rising I've never played a Metal Gear game before. Recently I picked up MGSV for $15 (because why the hell not, that's a stellar price) and I've been enjoying most of my time with it. I wish there was more love for people who didn't have a PS3 though, because I would love to get into the series now, especially with the knowledge that V is a prequel.

Wait do you have a 360? There is a a HD collection with 2, 3, and Peace Walker for 360 and PS3. Highly recommend it

My 360's useless at this point. The disk reader has stopped working on it, but I've been contemplating buying a PS3 so I can play all the stuff I missed out on last gen.

What are you playing MGSV on? PC?

An MGS fan modified and patched the PC port of MGS1 to work 100 times better on 2016 systems and especially windows 10. The only thing you would be missing out on is one gimmick in a boss fight that can only work on consoles. MGS2 has a PC port too that can be configured to mostly run fine or you could just emulate it. As for MGS3 it can be emulated but it takes a strong machine to do it.

Or even if your disk reader isn't working I'm pretty sure the 360 marketplace has the HD collection available.

I've emulated MGS3 on PSX2, it ran fine. Really fun game, but the controls are hard to get used to.
Currently playing an emulated MGS2.

I got MGSV on PS4, but my PC should be able to play the first two no probs. Worse comes to worst for MGS3 I'll just watch a cutscene compilation.

Is the boss that gets messed up Psycho Mantis? I know he does like card reading or something and says out loud certain games you've played before.

Yeah, the intended way to defeat him is to plug your controller into the second port so he can't read the controller inputs. However there is a way to do it without changing the controller port anyway

Yeah and since the PC has no controller ports or memory cards they just skip the whole gimmick with reading saved data and switching out controllers and make it so you can just shoot him.

MGS3 is the best game so watching a cutscene compilation is really cheating yourself out of great gameplay moments like The Sorrow fight and The End especially.

I don't have a PS4 so I don't know but isn't MGS4 or the HD/Legacy collection on the Playstation Now service yet?
