The fucking switch cart for the collection is a glorified download link, has none of the games inside, seems konami didnt want to pay for even the 12gb carts.

People have speculated that they fucked up Phantom Pain's easy slam dunk storyline to address the elephant in the room about Big Boss being the big bad of both OG Metal Gear 1 and 2. With fake Big Boss being used as the big bad for MG1 remake so they can rewrite MG2 so that Big Boss uses his decoy to take the fall in MG1 and stays around for MG2.
Also, given that they've poisoned the well for the Metal Gear Solid compilation for the Switch by making it fucking 100% download only (and the physical copy being empty/digital code only), will the games including the NES/computer versions of MG1 and MG2 and Snakes Revenge, be available separately for digital purchase? Or will they be holding the Switch versions hostage in the bundle?

This is Kojima cultist cope, I'm pretty sure. IIRC Kojima has stated that he never intended on remaking MG1 or MG2 because they were too similar to MGS.
Kojima fucked up Phantom Pain because it's the story he wanted to tell, but he was forced to make it work within Metal Gear Solid. I'd speculate that the deeper themes and messages were inspired by some other media (just like how Big Boss being compared to Che so much in Peace Walker was inspired by a Che Guevere documentary) he watched that he either just hasn't revealed or I haven't cared enough to look into.
Big Boss being the big bad of Metal Gear 1 and 2 was already addressed within Peace Walker, where the game ended with him declaring war on the world. Peace Walkers ending and subsequent epilogue was literally Big Boss becoming the villain. I fucking hate Peace Walkers weird AI Boss and 1970's mechs, but the bare bones story actually did address issues with how Big Boss was represented in MGS4 and gave him some actual agency in his own legacy.
Phantom Pain pretty much did the exact opposite, which I would bet money on being because Kojima was completely checked out of MGS by then but was being forced to continue work on it by Konami.

Pretty sure you can get MGS V to run on a Nokia tablet if you try hard enough, it's well optimized, a Switch port would probably be 720p 30 FPS but if it can run on 360 it can run on a Switch.

It never needed to be addressed. Dead people come back from the dead all the time in this series. People needing resolution to that are the reason Kojima blanketed MGS4 in lazy writing to address everything that didn't need to be.
Purely on his name from being apart of a successful trilogy 20 years ago. I don't know why he's still given so much slack, especially when Death Stranding bombed.
He still hasn't produced sales numbers close to what SOL had. Most games now rely on multiple console releases and PC to make up the back end just like DS did since it couldn't even make money for nearly a year since it repelled people away with it's intentional boring gameplay.

Yeah, the whole "need to explain how BB survived MG1" thing is the dumbest piece of Kojima cultists reasoning ever. It was already explained in MG2 by calling Kesler during BB's boss fight. He tells Snake that he was revived with cybernetics...the exact same way they explain Gray Fox surviving being blown the fuck up by a landmine in MGS.
Plus, like you said about the series, there is the whole thing with Liquid Snake surviving both an exploding Hind and an exploding Metal Gear REX cockpit that nobody ever questions.
Maybe Kojima was secretly stashing some of that 80 million dollars that supposedly was spent making The Phantom Pain?

Also, someone else asked if they would be sold separately, based on the steam page it seems like yes, tho they dont actually have prices and say "N/A" so maybe its just made that way so you can download them by themselves
