The MGS3 remake was confirmed for PC a while ago anyway. The only numbered game left is 4. I think Peace Walker is also part of the canon? In which case that and 4 are the only major games not to be on PC.
It's just a bit odd since MGS1 and MGS2 were ported just a year after their initial releases. (and the OG Metal Gears, I suppose). Why did we have to wait so long for the others?

Because Konami.

Also remember that they took down the MGS2 PC port from most retailers.

I'm calling bullshit on MGSV being on the Switch with the caveat that the only way I feel like they could accommodate that happening is by making it a Cloud service game like Capcom's done with the Resident Evil titles and Square's done with Kingdom Hearts.

Even moreso for MGS 4 IMO

I can see it working natively; the game was also on PS3/360, and the Switch has more power than those two. But it being Konami, I'd bet on it being a cloud game due to them not willing to pony up the cash to get a cartridge that would fit the game.

Kind of disappointed that the Master Collection MGS1 looks like a straight PS1 port instead of Twin Snakes. I didn't realize how much I didn't miss those visuals until looking at the screenshots on SteamDB.

I mean, most of the Kingdom Hearts games were on consoles that the Switch could also easily handle save for 3 but that didn't stop Square from deciding "lol Cloud play only" for the Switch.

Unfortunately it looks like I was right and MGS 1 is going to be controller only with fixed low resolution PS1 port.
Well, might pick it up for Metal Gear 1 & 2 and MGS 3.
