So I talked to my gun enthusiast neighbor and he said Rossi doesnt make crap guns.

So is the Rossi gallery a crap gun or a decent budget gun?
Rossi International made firearms for a number of years and was for a large portion of their life a S&W clone maker, and a decent one at that. They were eventually bought by Taurus (prior to BrazTech) and continued to make inexpensive clones.

the Rossi Gallery gun looks like a Winchester 61 clone, and if it's typical Rossi, will be functionally fine. manual actions are more forgiving of cost cutting than automatic actions in general as well. about the only thing i would wonder about is if it was decently accurate, or if they skimped on materials in some fashion (using alloy instead of steel for part of the bolt, et c). given standard velocity .22LR, i wouldn't expect any real issues in terms of safety.

the top comment was someone reporting his rifle was perfect. sounds like a QC issue rather than a design flaw or something. generally, out of the hundreds of Rossi (and Taurus and IMBEL and a few other smaller companies like ER Amantino) Rossi firearms i've handled, they are generally alright, and Taurus (who now owns Rossi) tends to do a good job with warranty work if needed. certain Taurus models are pretty bad though, but that seems to be a Taurus model-specific thing.

if you're very concerned about quality, consider a Winchester 62A which has been made up through the 1950's and is still inexpensive with many ready parts on the market and is generally pretty high quality.

For two point slings on a mlok and magpul fixed carbine stock, where would the best placement?

Under the rail and I guess the sling slot that is parallel to the magazine.

slings are shooting aids. if you aren't using a sling for stability, it almost doesn't matter how you attach it as long as it isn't going to snag on your gear, you maintain weapon control, and it's comfortable to carry.

most people will vary attachment points by how the weapon hangs from the body and how they use the sling itself for stability.

Is it better to mount a laser light combo on the front side of the barrel or on top in front of the optic like a red dot sight?
I've seen lots of PEQ15s mounted in all sorts of configurations, so I suppose the milspec answer is "yes". My personal opinion is "whichever gets in the way least" because occluding your weapon sight is for suckers. Of course, top/bottom mounts can be required for slim storage, but it's a question you'll have to ask for your own situation (and answer with some experimentation.)
How do you guys get bullets? They don't have them at Walmart anymore.
Sometimes I lay down, sometimes I cry about it, other times both. (:_(

Luck when checking local stores. Sucks but that's what pandemic plus people panicking at the mere prospect of gun control does - gun control which doesn't have the votes to pass.
heh, they'll sell them in baggies

Personally? I prefer to walk straight up to them and give them a nice pie or a 12 of beer.

i have a old model 17 (no dash) from 1958 and they are great shooters and target pistols. very overbuilt too if you like hot .22LR like hyper velocity ammo (CCI Stingers, et c). a popular add on for many people for competitive target shooting is the Aristocrat sight rib with fiber optic front and rear adjustable sights.

I just scored 280 rounds at mine of 7.62x39 so giddy time "laughs in SKS"

So my cerakote job will be done soon I wanted "near stock" I had no idea how many damned shades so got "SOCOM blue" it's quite like... well a blued gun. black with blue hue.

I'll post pics when done and this place is awesome apparently one of best in US and just happens to be semi local CS and all was 10/10 so I'd love for anyone in need to throw em work.

Lastly, @Club Sandwich since you're in industry, how bad are waits for title 2s? I have a bunch already but I REALLY need another SBR stamp ASAP. How long is that looking to be?

I was hoarding well before this shitshow began. But I can occasionally find some boxes at big-box sporting goods stores (Cabela's, Bass Pro, Academy, Scheels).

Also, my range had some 9mm for sale, though be prepared to pay your left nut.

Eh, I don't want to sperg because I've been in my whiskey, but steel case shit is kinda a drama.

So what's the deal with dude running a THREADED BREECH SLAPT round.. omfg.

The biggest reason a lot of ranges ban steel case is because there's no profit in jewing it up to resell as opposed to brass.

That and shitty ranges have a fire risk from ricochets.
