Looks good. Are you gonna put an optic on it? I'm hopefully going to be buying an optic for my Galil this weekend. Either a Vortex Strikefire or a Bushnell TRS-25Nice CAG! Function test it yet? What do you think of the progress of my AUG?
I'm planning on 3d printing a bullpup ar-15 reciever once I can afford an an Arak 21 upper. Since its bufferless and has a monolithic rail to mount optics onto it should work.
I've been looking at an ares too but an SCR. I want to add a custom machined extended magazine release and a troy left hand side release, get a nice trigger job on it and mate it to a monolithic upper with a match grade .223 wylde barrel. Then mount a Ching sling and a scout scope on the forend along with a lightweight bipod. Basically it's a scout style AR.I've got my eye on the ARAK-21 as my next AR build as well as the ARES Defense Shrike/MCR.

I'm a big fan of lmt. The brits use it as a dmr and they found it was more reliable then the HK417 even though the lmt is a DI and the HK is piston driven, they're just that well built.I'm planning on getting a PRI Mk12 Mod 0 upper to go with the ARAK-12 upper. I'll be using a Lancer lower with the modular mag well and one of those new Troy collapsible stocks that are like the MP5 collapsible stocks. I'm also going to build my wife and son each lightweight KISS carbines with keymod rails and MagPul CTR stocks. This will all be after I get my 308 AR bought, which I'm trying to decide on which rifle currently. I've narrowed it down to the LMT MWS308, the LWRC REPR, and the PWS Mk220. Whichever one I choose will be my go-to self defense rifle.

I've read in a couple places they use canadian built c7s over standard m4s as their regular weapon. You mean they added a 13.5 to their 7.62mm model? Geeze the muzzle flash from that must be gigantic like an old hk53, this is just me thinking out loud but I'd bet they keep a suppressor attached to that most of the time.I've also heard rumors that the SAS and SBS are using the LMT with a 13.5" barrel as a heavy carbine in situations where the M4/HK416 won't cut the mustard. LMT just released a 13.5" barrel to their lineup, so there may be some truth to that story.

For those of you interested, IWI will be bringing the Galil ACE chambered in 7.62x39mm and accepts AK magazines to the US market next year. I'm looking to get one for myself.

I am thinking of picking up an AR18 with my tax return soon. It's seriously so unloved for how great of a rifle it was. Most of these 'super fancy game changing tacticool rifles' that people are shitting themselves over recently like the G36, SCAR, etc. use the same short stroke gas piston system and one could say they are just AR18s in a fancy package. I would love an AR180B the most since it can use standard AR15 magazines or an AR180 made by Howa in Japan but all the AR18s I've seen so far are Sterling made or Armalite made.

Yeah that's what I meant. The AR180B is the one that can take AR15 magazines but I can't find an AR180B, just AR180s.Actually the original AR-18/180 took a similar, but different magazine that were not cross compatible. Armalite made a modern one about ten years ago that took AR magazines.
