Did someone say "guns"? I collect historical military guns, plus have a few modern guns. Here's a small sample:

Historicals > modern shit

Anyway, nice collection, especially liking the Skorpion. What is that, .32 ACP?

Correct.
Yugoslavia made a 9mm Makarov and/or .380 version, but the original Czech ones are .32 / 7.65mm

I've always preferred larger cartridges than the anemic .25 and .32 ACP, but the Skorpion is cool.

Nice thing about the Vz-61 with the stock and 10-20rd magazines is that you can put several rounds into your target about as easily as getting one aimed round off with a pistol. So, although the cartridge is weak, it kind of makes up for it in firepower.

Someone should make a Skorpion in .45 ACP

Fuck that, make it 10mm Auto. Go big or go home.

You'd have to design a whole new gun. The simple blowback system the Skorpion uses wouldn't work with larger calibers.

I don't know about that, the blowback system did just fine with the Thompson in .45 ACP. But obviously I was kidding, whether 10mm or .45 I think a Skorpion in that caliber would be rather difficult to control on full auto. Break your nose and miss your target!

Did you build the Skorpion yourself, or just purchase and mod it later on? I personally prefer to build my own firearms, if at all possible. You appreciate and respect them more, and you learn every component of your rifle. I personally like firearms, but I like working with tools more. :ween:

I built it, but it was just a matter of getting the right parts and assembling them. Didn't have to do any welding or riveting or anything like that.

Well, I prefer to build my own receivers off of blanks. Right now I have a few going on, and if I screw up I know people who can weld for me.

To say nothing of heat treating the receivers. I'm all for going full retard.

going full retard is necessary for increased strength and durability. I really like rifles, and right now I am building a few that are based on the AK pattern. All my 922r required US parts are going to be inside, and the rifles themselves? All wood and steel. Bakelite is acceptable if it's original Eastern European furniture. But that's in some of the grips.

Right now though, I'm saving money for other things going on in my life. I'm kind of on a hiatus with firearm related items.

The Thompson actually had a friction system that slowed down the bolt, but the Heckler and Koch UMP-45 is a standard blowback and it's a very effective and popular weapon. 10mm could easily function with a blowback action. Maybe not in a weapon as small as the Skorpion but definitely one in the same size as the UMP.

So I've had to change my "must have" list a bit.

First off I'll be building a custom AR15 with a Lancer L15 modular lower and a LMT MRP Rifle length upper.

The L15 lower.

And the ACE Hammer stock I'll be putting on it.

Next will be a Beretta Px4 in 9mm and I'll be adding tritium sights and a Surefire X400 light.

And finally will be a simple, old school AR15 carbine. I may or may not get it registered as a short barreled rifle and do a full CAR-15/XM177 clone.

Then, after these and if the government hasn't fucked gun owners over yet, then I'll get a Steyr AUG A3.

And there are the three lever actions I want.

And I HAVE to get one of these. It's a triple barreled shotgun. They have this home defense model and a hunting model with a 30" barrel. I think I may get both if they're not too expensive. I've been needing a new hunting shotgun.

My Pop carried a XM177 in Vietnam, which inspired me to build a clone. It's just slightly longer than an original because I didn't want to bother with the SBR taxes and paperwork to make it like half an inch shorter.

Here are a couple I did SBR (along with the VZ61 already mentioned)
Bulgarian AKSU-74

Finnish Suomi M31. It's semi-auto only, but I wanted it to at least look like a M31 should without some dumb barrel extension sticking out of the front.

I've got a major chubben for that AR and Krink Sakamoto!

After much fondling of many different rifles I have decided instead of the AR I will be getting a new TAR-21 Tavor with an 18" barrel. I love bullpups and was considering getting another Steyr AUG until I saw a Tavor in a local bang shop. Everything about it is perfect for me. The only two things that the AUG has over the Tavor is a bit crisper trigger and a quick change barrel.

But everything else on the Tavor is superior to the AUG A3.

I still plan on getting a retro AR one day and I want to build a simple AR for my son for when he's older.

So I've got a Beretta M9A1 on lay away right now. My boss wants me to get my armed license and I need a sidearm in 9mm. Everything about the Beretta fits me perfectly. I'll post pics when I get it.

My new Beretta M9A1.

A MAC 11 with a Lage Slowfire Upper that I got to shoot on Thursday.

Me with the MAC.

I was reluctant to pop into this thread as I know dick about guns (I just enjoy shooting them with the menfolks in my family), but I have to say that is one fine firearm. 'Grats on the purchase :D

Thanks bud. It's the finest 9mm I've ever shot. I fits my hands like it was custom made for them and the sights line up perfectly for me. I put a couple hundred rounds through it the day I got it and it ran perfect. No jams or misfires. I like it so much I'm going to buy a second one and customize it to look like the Barry Burton version of the Samurai Edge from the Resident Evil remake with a compensator, custom S.T.A.R.S. wood grips, stainless match grade barrel, stainless trigger, and tuned springs to lighten the trigger pull.
