No, it just doesn't want to cycle. Before I put a heavier recoil spring in it kind of worked and could go a couple shots before jamming, but with my new recoil spring it won't reliably cycle one round.
The .357 and .44 mag are able to fire .38 and .44 spl because they both headspace on the rim and have the same rim dimensions. .40 S&W and 10mm headspace on the mouth of the case and with the case being .142” shorter on .40 S&W can lead to major issues eventually. At best you have excessive freebore which can lead to accuracy issues along with the lower pressure of .40 S&W to cause cycling issues in a 10mm gun. This assumes that you manage to get the .40 S&W round to stay where you need it for the firing pin to get a good hit. At worst the bullet can engage the rifling at an excessive angle and cause a bore obstruction.

I highly recommend you cease firing .40 in a 10mm.

My Uberti 1851 navy .36 continues to be perfectly functional. I didn't know what to expect when i got it, even put off shooting it lest i be disappointed.

For a while all the BP guntubers were having problems with new uberti percussion guns (cartridge guns worked fine in the same period). My experience with a slightly newer production model makes me think that the Covid and immediately post-covid guns were just suffering bad QC.

I think what gives a lot of novice/inexperience shooters new to percussion revolvers problems is lightening the trigger. original colts, And i have owned originals, have very heavy triggers because of their very stiff mainspring. It's not a "good" trigger as we expect a single action to have today. Uberti tries to address this by having a lighter main spring (it's roughly half the thickness of an original) and shooters can turn out the strain screw to decrease the pressure even more.

The problem is thus: Percussion revolvers need a heavy hammer fall to detonate the cap. they just do, no way around it. A "good" trigger on a percussion colt will necessarily lead to misfires. tighten that strain screw all the way down and the uberti light spring will bust the cap every time, unless your caps are hard. it depends on the manufacturer, I use CCI.

considering it doesn't fuckin work I don't plan on making a habit of it, calm down lol

This morning marks the last day the DOJ can appeal before the NFA injuction takes effect. Hopefully they do not make an appeal last minute and fuck everyone over, and instead apply the injunction to the entire country

I can see this becoming a total clusterfuck for FFL's and everyone, especially since this only affects the plaintiffs and their customers

Are revolvers only for larpers or do you guys think they can be viable for self defense? I saw some boomer open carrying and I just don’t think 6 shots are enough compared to the glocks 15-17 rounds

It depends on what you mean by viable. You can use them to defend yourself, and they have a few advantages, but a modern semi-auto pistol is going to be better in almost every scenario that you'd find yourself in. I haven't seen any convincing arguments for revolvers except maybe bear defense. They do look cool, though.

Look up some stats pertaining to self defense situations with handguns. Usually the presentation of the firearm alone is enough to diffuse the situation, and if it comes to shooting, most engagements end within 6 shots.

Snub revolvers are eternal because they fullfill some hyper niche use cases a semiauto just doesn't. Full size wheel guns are for fun and hunting.

While that's true, it's worth remembering that most != all. If the engagement is defused by the mere presence of any gun, or if it ends within 6 shots there's no real difference between having a revolver or a semi. If however it isn't defused/ended within 6 rounds then a revolver is at a serious disadvantage.

That's not to say you shouldn't carry one, carrying any gun especially if you actually train with it, is always better than not but it does mean if you're gonna go for a revolver you need to think about why and if the tradeoffs are worth it.

Goa announces intent to transfer a suppressor to 2 individuals tonight at 12:01 (one notably being B. Herrera ) without Registering it. Which would make it the first legal transfer of a suppressor without registering with the NFA since 1934.

They still have to follow the GCA, which I believe is just the standard background check?

My guess is the ATF will not appeal (IMO they would have already done so) but will lag issuing guidance causing a massive shit storm. (IE, do suppressors still need NFA engravings/Makers marks?)

This ruling creates so many questions, and I've already ordered 20 solvent traps from ping ping so hopefully everything plays out.

They really are not wasting any time in trying to test fire this, which is probably a good thing. Less time for ATF to ponder what to do and overall less ambiguity over how things will go in the future. Of course ATF can do ATF things, but best to get it out of the way as fast as possible.

hypothetically does it become a silencer when I hit "print" or when it's done printing on my 3d printer? purely hypothetically here... something could be scheduled to be done at 12:01...

Their not optimal but I do have a 8 shot s&w 357 I keep trying to find a decent and not bank breaking shoulder holster for this winter.

For lots of reasons those studies are flawed. Namely you can't distinguish a retard brandishing a gun because his ego demands it or to avoid a deserved asswhooping and a legitimate life or death defensive situation.

The alleged low round count to stop an attack presumes they are unwilling to fight back. If you don't flip the off switch with one of your shots almost certainly they can push through and fuck your shit up.

Capacity and rate of fire does count for a lot. Though, nothing will compensate for poor accuracy.

I hate looking at this thing. This nigger bubba'd the shit out of an antique WW1 era Colt 1911 with a port, light rail, and RMR cut

Well at least it will be easier to get a good night's sleep in Chicago as the hood rats all slap on the latest and greatest gear in order to make their shooting even less accurate.
