Got 11 the other day. Holy fuck is it hard. I think the double gear system is really the key. If you don't use it good luck.

What's with capcom obsessively trying to stick with techosynth for Mega Man? They might as well take the extra mile by putting nightcore. If MMX9 somehow comes out I hope they make the OST similar to X8.

The way speed gear works in MM11's platforming defintely reminds me of slow-mo in Viewtiful Joe or the Witch Time puzzles in Bayonetta, where it feels like a necessary mechanic, instead of a babby easy mode that breaks the game
My first thought when they introduced the gear system was that they prolly just copy pasta'd the code from Viewtiful Joe :(

Doubtful, they feel different and they have different engines.
 
I wanna wait till Chrimbus so I can get the game on the Switch (I'm getting a switch for chrimbus), but I don't wanna miss out either. What should I do guys? Should I go for the steam version?
 
Megaman: Fully Charged started out bad, but it had a really good episode today. Hopefully it'll stay this way...

I brought the bundlwe that has both Megaman Legacies on PS4 and decided to play through from 1 to 8 and oh boy i remember why i don't like X2: the X-Hunters levels are pissing me off, it's like they tried to up the diffulty a lot after Sigma levels in X1

X2's a bit better on a replay when you know how to deal with the X-Hunters, but I totally agree that they're a pain in the ass, especially if you don't want to deal with the Zero boss. That and they break the flow of the game.
 
I find it hilarious that the first thing the Mega Man fandom does after demanding a new game for almost 10 years is immediately start complaining about how the new game looks.
Frankly, I'm not surprised Capcom doesn't want to make anymore MM games with a fandom like that.

It looks lifeless, with dead characters and scenery. They should have used sprites/2D art

This I shall agree with. Honestly, why does every fucking game need to be in 3D these days? Whatever happened to gorgeous, hand-drawn assets? It's not like they couldn't afford it.
Oh wait, I know why, it's because they're greedy pricks that want maximum profit from minimal investment.

On top of that using deneuvo DRM is just spitting into the face of the fans because of how awful it is.

Then the complaint will get amended to "they should have kept using the 8-bit sprite art"

X2's a bit better on a replay when you know how to deal with the X-Hunters, but I totally agree that they're a pain in the ass, especially if you don't want to deal with the Zero boss. That and they break the flow of the game.

On the one hand, I totally get what the X-Hunters were supposed to do as a gimmick. Since they appear randomly in different areas, the game expects you to shake up your strategy of which Mavericks you want to take on next, depending on whether a stage contains an X-Hunter you want to defeat in tandem with what weapons you want to get first to make your life easier. That way your path in one playthrough might be different from that in another. For the second game of a series that focuses on optimizing your path in such a way that minimizes all the backtracking you have to do to collect items, it's a pretty ballsy move. But on the other hand, I just wish it wasn't so restrictive and that the game put a better effort into explaining what makes an X-Hunter go away forever. It's an optional mechanic, but having to fight three bosses over just one for shit that doesn't even matter in the long run (whether you choose to collect all of Zero's parts or not, the ending is the same) just isn't worth it outside of bragging rights. Oh, and Serges with his stupid little shield can go fuck himself.

Still, X2 is easily one of the stronger games in the X series. It's just not as good as X1 IMO.

I was thinking more about the fortress level with the crushers, spikes and platforms in (X-Hunter 1, 2 znd 3 respectively with mobile platforms in the third one being the worst) the X-Hunter themselves are easy this time around since i'm shaking off the rust so i decided to see what the easy mode does but yeah normally they are not exactly fun
