X6 is the best one.
I want whatever you're smokin, because that game was hot garbage. I genuinely can't decide if I hate X6 or X7 more.

My biggest problem with with later X games is that more levels needed to be based entirely on gimmicks. X4-8 (not X6) had entire stages dedicated to the Ride Chaser. I come to these games for the platforming.

I didn't mind 4 and 5. 6 and 7 were pretty awful, 8 wasn't bad, but I think that's just because 7 was so fucking terrible anything was better by comparison. 1-3 are definitely the best though, by a huge margin compared to the others.

There's a fan patch that does a good amount to fix it. I omitted my specification of "best of the PS1 entries."

Did Inafune leave Capcom on his own or was he laid off? Was this ever made clear.

By leaving Capcom, Inafune hopes to effect a change within the Japanese games industry through his own methods. He reveals that he feels he attempted for several years to restructure the way Capcom develops games, with regard to budgets and innovation, with little success.

Translation: they didn't suck him off enough. You're not supposed to say things like this, especially in Japan, if you want to have a good relationship with your former employer. He had an extremely nasty habit of outsourcing for games he wanted to make, and they were often bombs. See: DmC.

It is worth noting that after he left (late 2010), IntiCreates suddenly stopped getting MM-related work, after developing both MM9 and MM10. I would say that most likely that they're not on good terms with Capcom due to the Inafune connection. This is also highlighted by how the Inti side got less diplomatic regarding Capcom's interference in what they wanted to do with MM Zero.

So whatever the case, the separation does not appear amicable.

Good riddance because initcreates isn't anything to write home about. Mega Man ZX was 15 years ago, and their output since then has been Mighty no 9, some turbo weeb shit called gal gun and massive amounts NES dicksucking.

I wonder what the hell Inafune and Comcept are doing now after that mobile game they made came and went. I heard Level 5 has been going through some rough times, makes me think the studio isn't going to last that much longer, if it even still exists.

Inafune was executive producer for the Azure Striker Gunvolt series that Inti made.

Which is part of why I say that it's unlikely Inti would be allowed near Mega Man again. Which is good because they, much like Inafune, appeared to kind of be very self-indulgent regarding the series.

Are there any spiritual succesors worth a fuck for megaman? I tried to get into Gunvolt but the tag and zap sysyem never clicked and it's levels of weebery were too much even for me.
There was Maverick hunter. A metroid prime styled game demo that capcom shitcanned. I can see why since it was hilariously edgy and over the top with glory kills about a decade before the Doom Reboot.

i have no sides and i must kek.

Has there been a parody game where you play as Trump and it's called MAGA Man?
not yet, you could even pull some X6 shit where you rescue MAGA people from the glowies like the nightmare possessions.

Did they ever make anymore MM games similar to Legends?!
legends 3 was canned because volnutt got stuck in elysium, still, legends story is gay as fuck, gayer than MZero.

you mean TEPPEN or some other one? because there is a mobile megaman made by chinks and hoo boy it's shit.

The reason Maverick Hunter was going to be crap was because Inafune had a massive hard-on for Western game devs.

That's why we got DmC which killed that series for years. The only reason MM9 and MM10 were made by Japanese developers is because IntiCreates was basically an extension of Inafune.

As for X Dive, the Taiwan-made gacha, it's actually doing well financially while doing poorly gameplay-wise because they are catering to the Japanese audience. Which means the latest original character donut steel has an inexplicable snowflake-shaped womb tattoo, which got merch put up on the Japanese Capcom Store linking to Amazon. Yes, I am serious, this is official Mega Man merch:

There's less "catering" designs in X DiVE overall compared to most other gacha shit, though. Granted, that could mostly be because they only have so many female designs they can recycle (which sure as shit hasn't stopped Fire Emblem Heroes), but, for the most part, there's been some pretty interesting original designs dropping for the male cast as well — stuff like X DiVE unique, "ultimate" forms for X, Zero, and Axl (and I guess MegaMan.EXE recently), and the Monster Hunter redesigns.

But then there's shit like just re-releasing basic bitch X, but at S rank/SSR, with different passives the same exact active skills, if just a bit buffed, as the regular X.

Meant more real games, indie or otherwise. Not vaporware from Capcom's retarded phase where they cared what Inafune had to say (though the mere idea that thing made it past the concept stage still amazes me).

Only megaman like succesor games I know are the Gunvolt series and mighty piece of shit and I'm open to suggestions.

I think a lot of it is they're only doing it to the gacha OCs for some reason. They have been obsessed with them, and the female ones get increasingly blatant coombait designs alongside the more normal Mega Man designs.

For some reason, the OCs are explicitly designed to not be like Mega Man characters. There seems to be a split in the people who play the game because of Mega Man nostalgia, and the coomers.

the design seem to be more like e-idol mixed with a few bits of megaman, don't forgetti the seasonal coombait skins, then again it's japenese so they often want coombait shit to draw in people, especially gacha games.

Well they were designed by Taiwan and the Chinese are not known to care about “little nuances” like that outside of coomer material.

I am so glad they are only sticking to a handful of characters to pull this garbage over.

Rico definitely characterizes the modern industry as a whole. She is loud, annoying, constantly takes control away from you up until level 50, and always breaks the 4th wall with no real way for you to interact with the fictional world she's from. She also almost exclusively tries to sell gacha currency and even went so far as to add a daily free pack in the purchase menu to get eyes on the ultra mega deluxe nothingburger packs that provide less entertainment than just lighting money on fire outside and will leave you with nothing to look back on a decade from now whenever the servers go down for good. Unlike any actual games with a postgame.

Can't we just get a decent villain or anti-hero to kill her off already "PLAYER SAMAAAAAAAA-"
*Rico takes over my screen*
"DID YOU KNOW THERE ARE STICKER REACTIONS ON THE BOTTOM OF EVERY POST? TRY USING IT NOW!!!!!!!!!"
*cannot interact with anything else on screen or even type anything. just use the arrow keys it directs*
I am 100% sure the Taiwanese are just as bad as the mainland and Rico is actually a Villain.

Well, what seems to have happened was that Capcom Japan took oversight on the game like a year or so in since it was unexpectedly successful, releasing a Japan-only version with a ton of exclusive freebies, et cetera.

That seems to have accelerated the coombait. Before that happened, they put out more fun units that centered around the games, like Evil Volnutt from Legends.

It started getting really bad with the second OC trio including Erato. Balloon tits, blue-and-pink hair, and so on. Alternate with breasts mostly exposed with a chain between them. That sorta thing, in a game where there's a warning to minors at startup.

I dunno. I'm not sure it's the Taiwan branch's fault, basically.
