The first time i saw the scene i laughed because it was such a wtf moment. Lelouch even joked about it and then bam, it went accidentally off and we got a tianamen square. And telling a Lacus Clyne expy to commit genocide
You have reopened an old wound. I love srw as a whole and its whats gotten me to learn their godforsaken language to play their titles. Srw blueballed me so hard at the end of Inspectors that its just painful. I hope they considered doing an anime of Gaiden or moon dwellers. Honestly srw is the kind of franchise that can be enjoyable from both the video game and anime side. Of course you get more context in the video games, but the anime is good enough that you can get by without the games. Also Srw has imo the best soundtrack in mecha for their suits. Shout out to Roar, One who breaks supremacy, Trombe, Sword soul One Strike and Fate. What is the best piece of weeb media and why is it SRW (both the games and the anime)? I just finished Divine Wars, and though I already played OG, it was worthwhile because I got to see all these great robots have battles with their full designs rather than the chibi sprites, as well as some neat screen designs. It was really cool to hear orchestral versions of the music too; the main downside of the anime compared to the game is that the battles aren't as epic and massive as I imagined them. I was okay with the differences between the anime and the game; they're both equally good stories. Divine Wars is also really good as a standalone show because it's what every mecha show should aspire to: it's got a good battle almost every episode, it's fast-paced and to-the-point, and the focus is almost entirely on worldbuilding and strategy. It's like an 80s mecha anime made in the 2000s, and that's wonderful. I'd say the anime is better written than the game in that regard!

I read the original comic and it was nice. It had a great over-the-top final battle, semi-sentient robots like Brain Powerd, and some weird twists, so it's flawless but eclipsed by better things. I haven't seen the cartoon, though. What's the consensus on Mech Cadets? I'm a fan of Polygon Pictures, but the shit is on Pedoflix so I'm not sure. Anybody watched it?
For fucks sake man, why cant they make good shit for Code Geass, why keep milking it with dumb shit like this or the disappointment that was Rozé. In my head CG ended in Resurrection.Apparently Geass Project is committing to the Lost Stories gacha being their new official "canon" with a web comic.

Oh god don't even remind me. Divine Wars is one of the absolute worst mecha anime for being a godawful adaptation of what should be the easiest fucking thing in the world to adapt (you know, like SRW The Inspector did). They did such a poor job on the fights, and the entire second half of the game is wrapped up in a few episodes. All so we can get a bunch of shit that wasn't even in the game like devoting an entire episode to Ryuusei being BTFO by some dickheads driving tanks. Literally everything is just underwhelming in how they adapted it, like how the hell does a goddamn GBA game with stiff as hell sprites even by the standards of GBA SRW manage to get across the story better? I also remember it being confusing as fuck with how it was written and thinking that if I hadn't played the game then I'd have no idea what was going on or why. They probably assumed anyone even interested in a low budget mecha adaptation would already have played the game. What is the best piece of weeb media and why is it SRW (both the games and the anime)? A weird case of not quite understanding Hamlet. Good thing S2 retconned Lelouch into saying he did it on purpose, which in context is a lie, but should be the truth. He's fundamentally a heel character, so it should follow that he cares more for revenge than anything that seems moral. And telling a Lacus Clyne expy to commit genocide
I know Yoko being 14 during her introduction gets a lot of ire still to this day, so I imagine fans felt better about it pretty quickly because now the main cast became adults so that way someone like Yoko could be lewded on without (complete) pedophile accusations.Anyways, watching Guren Lagann properly since I only saw bits and pieces of it when it was on the air years ago, and I have to wonder how fans felt about the time skip.

Anyways, watching Guren Lagann properly since I only saw bits and pieces of it when it was on the air years ago, and I have to wonder how fans felt about the time skip. The first half of the show is a corny 80s mecha show with very simplistic villains. Then the time skip happens and it takes a significant shift in tone and characterization. Now I personally like the time skip since it gives the supporting characters more nuance while the stakes go up exponentially, but I can see people who started watching the first half loving that part and not liking the second half.
underground years are differentYoko being 14

The timeskip is great, through I think the “city arc” is probably the weakest of the four arcs, Rossiu becomes a cunt and almost gets the entire planet destroyed and falling for the Anti-Spiral’s plans like a dumbass, at least he gets his shit kicked in by Simon with one of the hardest punches in any anime. That’s probably the only part of Gurren Lagann that bothers me, maybe it’s me not understanding or getting it, or maybe the intent to make him unlikeable, however the rest of it is absolutely peak, at least in my opinion.Anyways, watching Guren Lagann properly since I only saw bits and pieces of it when it was on the air years ago, and I have to wonder how fans felt about the time skip. I thought the point of Rossiu is that he becomes Lordgenome as an adult since he's about population management and other boring adult responsibilities like homeowners insurance and kangaroo courts. Rossiu was one of the only times I've ever actually yelled DO IT FAGGOT at a tv showI thought the point of Rossiu is that he becomes Lordgenome as an adult since he's about population management and other boring adult responsibilities like homeowners insurance and kangaroo courts.
If he was in Macross, Gundam, or Battleship Yamato, he'd be respected. He's in Guren Lagann though and this show is not about sensible planning.
Only thing I don't like about the timeskip is it retcons Lordgenome into a jobber when he's supposed to have a big picture understanding of why Human eradication is necessary. In the first part, he's a tyrant for far more arbitrary reasons.
I actually like Rossiu as a heel because he has the motivations that Lordgenome is supposed to have and he gives the protagonists an entirely different kind of obstacle that they can't just punch through. He is, however, the reason why the city arc is tonally different than the rest of the show, which is about drilling the giant robot as hard as possible.Rossiu was one of the only times I've ever actually yelled DO IT FAGGOT at a tv show
