BGC is the good shitDoes Bubblegum Crisis count? Rewatched that this week and really enjoyed it. Tokyo 2040 was alright but Crisis really captured that 80s cyberpunk mecha experience for me.
I preferred the TV ending, but yeah there's a lot of little odds and ends that are fun enough to make it worth watching, like there's a part where that one guy who's running the ship has to hack into the computers, and they get way more in-depth about the high tech hacking skillsI recently just finished Gurren Lagaan and, it’s in my top 3 mecha anime of all time. I was hesitant to watch it for the longest time, mainly due to the fans who boast about it being a “masterpiece”, it was the same feeling I had with Godzilla Minus One until I watched it. Especially as a huge Getter Robo fan, I’m glad it didn’t disappoint.
I have yet to watch the movies but I hear they’re just complications of the anime with some slight differences (i know the second one’s final battle is apparently better than the anime, i already thought the final battle was really good there), through not sure about the first movie.
Bubblegum Crisis is lght power armor on the smaller end of the sliding scale, so it counts as a mecha property.Does Bubblegum Crisis count? Rewatched that this week and really enjoyed it. Tokyo 2040 was alright but Crisis really captured that 80s cyberpunk mecha experience for me.
iirc the 2040 spinoffs are mostly cromulent tooBubblegum Crisis is lght power armor on the smaller end of the sliding scale, so it counts as a mecha property.
Edit: Since no one mentioned them yet, the sequel Bubblegum Crash is meh personify. Being very generous to it to say it maybe worth a watch once but definitely not worth paying for it. The prequel A.D. Police despite being someone's very undisguised fetish for each OVA and largely lacking in the mecha action; is worth a watch for the underlining character stories.
Is that fucking Mazinger Z with the Jeeg color scheme!?The Japanese internet has the strangest

I also thought Crash was very mediocre, apart from the music. I've been planning on watching AD Police soon so thanks for the heads up.Bubblegum Crisis is lght power armor on the smaller end of the sliding scale, so it counts as a mecha property.

Yup. iirc they did a bunch of gimmick colors like Getter, Devilman, forget what else.Is that fucking Mazinger Z with the Jeeg color scheme!?
What are those?
A bunch of Diaclone Sky Fortresses with different robot heads. I can't identify most of the heads, so they're probably from toku. What are those?
Definitely! Here are a bunch of other robots from non-mecha shows I like:
