Half a million refugees is a fucking drop in the bucket compared to our population, violent crime is still down compared to years ago, and the Open Borders shit is like her utopian vision she knows won't happen. Islam is fundamentally incompatible and more over, the Obama administration (for some reason) has accepted near-zero Christian Syrians despite 14% of Syria being Christian, and ISIS is committing genocide against them. They are naturally the refugees we should be accepting first and foremost, but we aren't.

Yeah, but then when does it stop? 1 million refugees? 5 million over some years? Do you think there's going to be less people trying to come to the USA from the Middle East once we open up to them, or do you think more will try to get here?

What about Hispanic immigration? California is almost a Hispanic-majority in just 40 years after changing our policy, and that sure isn't from a limited legal immigration policy: it's from illegal immigrants coming en masse, having more children than the native population, and even more being encouraged after hearing about amnesty for millions upon millions of illegal immigrants granted every few decades.

Do you see the parallel between illegal immigrants from our southern border, and these middle eastern refugees? They have reshaped California's entire demographics, and you think such policies are just "a drop in the bucket?"

So does President Obama and I would like to remind everyone that in Australia-style gun control, it involves mandatory turn-ins of guns you bought legally, for mediocre compensation, and they barely got 20% if that of the estimated guns turned in.

If there were "Universal Background Checks" in Australia that left a detailed paper trail of where every single gun went, you can bet they would found people who owned guns that were legal to buy when they bought them, would have had their doors kicked in and had their offending firearms confiscated, if only they had the records like are trying to be established in the USA.

Even though it is illegal under the 1986 Firearm Owners Protection Act to crate a federal log of all gun sales, as part of a compromise to outlaw new-production machine guns from sale to civilians, Universal Background Checks aim to do exactly that.

Gun control "compromise" is a lie. Gun rights have been compromised in the past and the gun-grabbers did not hold up their end of the deal.

Slippery slope and a really false parallel. For one thing, these refugees are well, refugees. They actually applied to come here, legally, and have to be screened to hell and back before they're even considered. Deport all the illegals IMO, but give them the option if they can to come back through legal channels and get citizenship on the fast track if they're actually being contributing members of society.

Well... we have the first three largest airforces, the Typhoon fighter (look it up, thing is insane,) 17 aircraft carriers, a very well hidden sub fleet and some very sophisticated missile technology. We also haven't unleashed the full might of the American military on anybody since WWII. For one, there's really been no need to. This isn't even counting NATO's military force Russia has one carrier, China has one carrier. We spend a shit ton on our military. Far more compared to Russia or China.

Then again, we aren't gonna change anybody's opinions, let's all chill for about five seconds here. Politics (especially American politics) brings out the lolcow in all of us, so its best not to get bogged down in this

I'm not so trusting in the records of people who hold Syrian passports when Syria is a failed state.

I'm not really sure of the vetting process either when an American citizen marries a Pakistani-born woman living in Saudi Arabia, brings her to the USA, and they both commit a terror attack murdering 12 people and the FBI admits they had been radicalized before even before they were even married and before she had been brought to the USA.
