All discussion of the candidates, updates and results should go here

For example- here's a video of Ted Cruz vying for world domination.

Also Hilary Clinton is a crook and nobody should have sex with her.

Discuss

(Note- The title will change as we get nearer the election, previous titles will be archived in the OP)

Well Trump's solution is go back to the way shit was before, you know, when policyholders could be denied coverage for costly procedures and the medicare coverage gap was a chasm. He's bought into the GOP brand of bad ideas of letting insurence companies sell across state lines which is fucking horrifying.

Clinton wants to continue course (running the SS Obamacare through several coral reefs) but she claims she going to incentivize Medicare (lol good luck, most governors have their heads up their ass to take the money) and expand services so rural Americans have access. Sounds good in theory but practically pointless.
I say this because that won't fix the reality that the enrollment numbers are lower from where they should be in most projections and providers are getting nervous and want to raise premiums to make up for it. The FDA should be collaberating with their Canadian and Western European versions to make it legal to import medicine that costs way to fucking much here, and care providers should be required to provide a more detailed cost breakdown on medical bills.

I know I should just rate your post "agree/like/winner" and move the fuck on to something else - but, yeah... DAMN. FUCKING. STRAIGHT. Healthcare is a reprehensible insult (I refuse to call it a joke, because that would imply this shit is "funny"...) in the US and the fact that no one seems to see that makes me nothing but a perfect combination of royally pissed and violently weary of this crap.

EDIT - I'm not a fan of posting this as a link (knowing the sources) - but here's what exactly I'm getting at with this whole price gouging issue (and how Clinton is involved, which explains her NOT speaking out on this crap.):
http://www.infowars.com/company-gouging-price-of-epipens-is-a-clinton-foundation-donor-and-partner/
http://dailycaller.com/2016/08/24/c...ns-is-a-clinton-foundation-donor-and-partner/

I know it's late, but I would feel amiss without a source(s) to back-up what's getting to me here, even if said source(s) ain't all that great.

Also, @Mungo - Brexit was good for the UK, BS happening there that's bad right now aside. FACT.

While I don't doubt you, I honestly don't know enough about the situation to comment beyond the immediate impact of the referendum. Could you explain?

Most of what I got of it was from paying attention to conversations in the UK politics thread sponsored on this site. All I know is that a lot of people (especially young ones who worship the EU's feet, unaware of the fact that the EU is causing nothing but trouble as of late.) not understanding the good this could do for Britain getting stupid/salty about it.

I think there is more to it than that. From what I could tell, the campaign got nasty very rapidly, which is unsuprising considering most I have heard about UKIP is less than glowing. How much of that is warrented, I wouldn't know. Somebody like @Vitriol could explain it better than my yankee ass. But I will admit Farrage walking back that statement of funding to the EU going to the NHS is less of a dick move, and more of a move that calls for beating him over the head with a fucking branch. Him acting like a petulent little child toward the EU didn't exactly help him, even if it was pretty funny.

Tbf there was one candidate who was talking about how needlessly expensive healthcare is but he's out now.

:cuck:

Congress would never even allow it to be discussed. The owner of the company that makes Epi-pens is a daughter to a congressman...let that sink in my friends. These medical companies are fucking huge, and some of them are retaliating when they don't get to acquire more market shares. And now we see this. Honestly, that terrifies me

It shouldn't terrify - as much as it should displease, sadden, piss off, enrage, and encourage action against this shit by the citizenry forced to put up with it for too long.

But they are discussing it:
U.S. lawmakers press Mylan on EpiPen price increases

And there are generics that cost a lot less, it's not like the EpiPen is the only option out there.

Didn't springsteen call him a jackass to his face once? Or was that Tom Morello to Paul Ryan?

Tom Morello to Paul Ryan.

It's amazing how much Christie's fucked up since the 2012 primary. He was on Romney's VP list and he was their keynote speaker.

Fast forward four years, and he's desperately clinging to Trump's campaign for relevance. I hope he gets crushed in his next election.

He's the fucker who's ruined my home state of NJ, so that goes ten-fold for me.

Are you talking about the cronyism, the whole Bridgegate thing, the misappropriation of emergency funds, the multiple stand-offs with state and federal officials, all of the above, or something completely different?

Every article I find on Christie's government seems like a list of shitty things he's done with his power, even his Wikipedia page.

Everyone calls him that. Because he is. Not because of his politics, but because he is Trump's fluffer and Jersey tresh.

Also, I think Trump dropped something!

I'm curious to what "action" people can take. Unless the media makes Big Pharma a #1 News policy issue, (which they won't because Pharma are their advertisers) no politician will be forced on the issue at all, and they'll listen to the lobby group that promises campaign donations in exchange for policy.

It's really just Capitalism being Capitalism. Corporations want to report endless growth to their shareholders, that's their only main goal. So they do everything in their power to do so, suppress bad press by threatening to pull advertising money, lobby groups up the wazoo, attempt to get laws changed to allow themselves more freedom on the market. Once those options are nearly exhausted they simply widen the net, see what other countries are willing to take campaign donations for allowing them more freedom in new markets.

It's my fervent hope that during the first big debate, when all the major politicians are there, a cataclysmic gas main rupture occurs and all the pundits, politicians and mainstream media types big the big one.

It's our only hope for a sane future... We need a slate wiper event.
