All discussion of the candidates, updates and results should go here

For example- here's a video of Ted Cruz vying for world domination.

Also Hilary Clinton is a crook and nobody should have sex with her.

Discuss

(Note- The title will change as we get nearer the election, previous titles will be archived in the OP)

So remember that time Trump ducked out of the debate like a pussy bitch because Megyn Kelly was moderating it and she was mean to him that one time?

Remember how he held a fundraiser for All Are Armed Forces instead, and raised six million dollars?

Turns out the veterans' charities have only received about half of that.

Donald Trump famously skipped a Republican debate to host a fundraiser for veterans. But a new report reveals he kept roughly half of the $6 million raised.

“One hour. Six million dollars,” Trump bragged in Iowa a few days later. More than 20 organizations were supposed to get a chunk of that $6 million.

However, well over a month later, the Trump campaign is still refusing to reveal just how much money it had donated to inquiringWashington Post reporters.

The Post then contacted all 24 veterans charities to see how much they received, and arrived at a damning sum: Only $3 million.

“Where’s the rest of the money going?” said Keith David of the Task Force Dagger Foundation, which specializes in offering support to Special Operations personnel and their families.

They did receive a check from Trump, but they said “There’s a large chunk missing. I’m just kind of curious as to where that money went,” David continued. “I’d like to see some of it come to us, because we are on the list.”

Trump repeatedly asserts his independence. “I’m self-funding my own campaign… I don’t think I get enough credit for self-funding,” he says. However, the vast majority of his funding comes from what is called “candidate loans,” which he has quietly been trying to pay off with donations from individual contributors. However, out of the $12.6 million in candidate loans Trump raised in January, only $4.9 million was raised from his donors that month.

This raises questions about just how long Trump will keep the money raised for veterans within the Donald J. Trump Foundation, his personal charity that specifically gives donations that “boost his political brand,” according to the Post.

Perhaps nervous after the Post‘s line of questioning, the Trump campaign released a summary Thursday confirming the $3 million number. Spokeswoman Hope Hicks also sent an annoyed email saying that Trump intends to get around to giving the rest of the money at some unspecified time.

“If the media spent half as much time highlighting the work of these groups and how our veterans have been so mistreated, rather than trying to disparage Mr. Trump’s generosity for a totally unsolicited gesture for which he had no obligation, we would all be better for it,” she said.

The Trump campaign also revealed today that Keith David’s charity is not on the list of groups that should expect additional donations.

Besides, we aren't supposed to even have church influence any of our political process, but the GOP is happy to always ignore separation of church and state.
Separation of Church and State means that the government cannot establish a state religion or interfere with the workings of the country's churches. This does not mean that one with strong religious convictions cannot or should not be elected to public office.

That's democracy for you. It's supposed to be convoluted. However if the GOP prove that their section process is a sham It'll do more damage to america then even Trump's presidency would.
I fail to see how a potential failure on Trump's part to secure the majority of the delegates would do "damage to America." Republican figures have done nothing more in regards to the convention than encourage voters to cast their ballots for not-Trump; if the rules of the convention are followed, the convention will not end up being brokered unless the voting people choose to vote for the candidates who aren't Donald Trump.

The Republican Party is not the United States of America, which itself is not a democracy but rather a republic. Having a system to allow the party-selected delegates to vote on a candidate should the ballots of the people not choose one does not make the process a "sham."

My apologies if I was unclear. I meant that politicians very often allow their religious doctrines to get in the way of their politics and highly influence them. They even go so far as trying to have religious mandates for schools, which is blatant disregard for separation of church and state. I do not want my politician's religion to influence his decisions for the country. So what if you think abortion is wrong, it is still our right and you cannot take it away from us. It is like someone who is Hindu going into office (like that would ever happen) and mandating that the country no longer be allowed to consume beef...it is just ridiculous.

There can be good politicians who are religious, of course.

But there can also be bad ones.

All I am saying is that you cannot justify that someone is a "good" person merely by their claims of piousness. Being religious or not has very little to do with one's actual morals.

So they spend the whole debate shitting on trump and when asked if they would support the nominee even if its trump they say yes

To all you folks who are feeling down about Sanders' poor performance, never fear, for Jesse Ventura is ready to pick up the mantle.
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl...a-i-ll-run-for-president-if-bernie-loses.html

The Daily Beast said:
MINNEAPOLIS — Jesse Ventura told The Daily Beast he will run for president if Bernie Sanders does not win the Democratic nomination.

Ventura was elected the governor of Minnesota as an independent in 1998 after serving as a Navy SEAL and professional wrestler. Ventura said his campaign was so successful at showing an outsider could be elected that Trump and Sanders are “ripping him off.” He bets he can do it again if Sanders loses and the election is Hillary Clinton vs. Trump.

“They’re setting the groundwork for me because if Bernie loses, by the time we get to June, how sick are the people going to be of all these people,” he said while dressed in a Jimi Hendrix shirt under a blazer and SEALs beanie.

“See, I’m an independent and I despise the two parties,” Ventura, who speaks as if he is prepared to tackle you, continued. “I love what Trump’s doing to the Republicans. He’s got them in complete disarray. In fact, it looks like the WWE when you watch their debates.”

As for who will prevail in the Minnesota caucus tomorrow night, Ventura really could not say.

“I support the revolution of what’s happening here,” Ventura said after telling a local that he worked for most “level-headed” news outlet (RT America). “There’s three things where I stand with Bernie on more so than Trump. Number one is campaign finance reform,” two is “the war,” and three is ending the War on Drugs.

Ventura’s main cause of concern with Trump is his hawkish nature, suggesting that the man who claims he will “bomb the shit out of ISIS” will get the U.S. stuck in more quagmires.

True to his independent streak, Ventura defended Trump for refusal to denounce the support of former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, David Duke.

“Anyone can endorse you,” Ventura said. “Why is it up to the candidate to denounce any endorsement? In our country you are free to vote for whoever you want to vote for. If David Duke wants to vote for Donald Trump, he’s welcome to do that. I think the media is out of line to think a candidate immediately has to denounce somebody.”

Ventura said the media should give Trump the “benefit of the doubt” for not knowing who Duke is (though Trump denounced Duke two days before the CNN interview where he refused to do so).

Ventura and Trump have crossed paths before, at Wrestlemania XX in 2004. At the event in Madison Square Garden, Ventura asked Trump if he would have his “moral and financial support” if he were to run for office.

“100 percent,” Trump said.

No matter what the outcome is on Super Tuesday and beyond, Ventura seemed excited to get back into politics, hoping to run alongside former New Mexico governor and libertarian candidate Gary Johnson, a personal friend.

“Jesse Ventura is a bright, shining new face who comes riding in on a white stallion to save the country,” Ventura said, describing what would be counted as one of the most surreal scenes in American politics.

Before taking up the politician mantle once again, Ventura may need to improve at one thing: taking pictures with fans.

“Don’t put it on the fucking Internet,” Ventura, stone-faced, said as someone snapped an iPhone picture with an excited admirer in the convention center.

Making a stand on principals, consequences be damned, is hard guys :(
If they actually wanted to show they disapprove of Trump, they'd have said no. Fuck the executive branch at this rate, you better hold onto the Legislature for dear life.

Have you ever met people who qualify for those programs? America's impoverished who qualify for those programs live better than the middle class, but such luxuries are meant to distract from an impoverished mind set. To me, lifting Americans out of poverty means getting everyone on their own feet and only encouraging welfare when it's actually needed, not turning it into a career while encouraging the growth of poverty by inviting immigrants to succle America's sweet tits.

You're mistaken. A majority of those seeking welfare absolutely need it. It's not as simple as get off your ass and get a job when you are just trying to survive day by day. There are people who abuse the system from the rich to the poor. I know this first hand. Many of them chronically homeless or mentally ill etc. etc. the list goes on aand on.

However those who do cheat the system can fuck off in many ways.
