All discussion of the candidates, updates and results should go here

For example- here's a video of Ted Cruz vying for world domination.

Also Hilary Clinton is a crook and nobody should have sex with her.

Discuss

yes it's always meant that, and it wasn't what i was referring to.
fascism in current culture is now used as an insult akin to 'commie' in the 50s where the only thing you'll have to qualify for to be applied the word is 'be against the current political norm'. you'll always hear people calling people like trump or hillary fascists with almost no real 'weight' behind the word anymore: it's going to lose it's meaning due to overexposure. so if we'll ever actually see a new fascist authoritarian state in europe or the americas when people begin to call against it the reaction won't be as strong as it 'should' be. desensitivity to a political threat. 'crying wolf' over things that aren't a problem.

current example of desensitivity: venezuelas food crisis from their arguably fascist government.
Venezuela is not fascist but socialist.
They took the means of production and literally have forced labour on their farms.

I love how that whatever Trump says, people who say they're making "informed, nuanced decisions about the candidates" will support him with fanatical zeal or at least downplay his comments to ridiculous extents. Shit that, if Hillary had said it, they'd be standing on the rooftops trumpeting how she hates America and Americans and the soldiers and guns and and and.

Lemme ask anyone who's special enough to be in this thread something. For the Trump brownshirts supporters, is there anything at all that could get you to vote for Hillary? And for the Hillary shills supporters, is there a situation where you would vote for Trump? Saying you'd vote for third parties instead isn't an answer, neither is spoiling a ballot or voting for Null.
I might vote for Hillary if she promised to build a wall and destroy ISIS and disavowed BLM and stopped selling out what she believes in to the highest bidder.

Edit: Oh yeah and if she didn't want to take our guns

I'd vote for whichever one I could trust to adopt a consistent life ethic. Reject abortion while assisting mothers unable to support their children, crush any attempt to legitimize euthanasia and assisted suicide, end use of the death penalty in all but the most dire cases, dismantle at least some of our nuclear weapons, enforce our ban on torture even when called 'enhanced interrogation', recognize the universal right to basic healthcare and give people the chance to productive work instead of just mailing them a pittence and call it welfare.

that is not a great idea.

I'll concede the nuclear weapons, but you're for allowing torture?
There is no morality in any kind of conflict.
There should be no limitations in dealing with the enemy.
I remember a Vietnam war vet being interviewed about if he applied Geneva convention articles on his capture enemies.
The answer was that he applied article 556 to the head.
Yes call me a sociopath or something, but yes I approve torture as a legitimate means of obtaining information.

Except torture doesn't and hasn't provided us with correct information.

Because people are willing to say anything to get out of it, including lie.

maybe.
But my point still stands.
We should use any method to eradicate the enemy.
Isis used gas, etnic cleansing and deliberate targeting of civilians.
War isn't a football match.
There is no rules that you can enforce upon both combatants.

So the answer to ISIS being horrifying murderous cunts is to match them in cruelty? I agree we gotta take em out, but stooping to their level has always exacerbated the problem, especially in the Middle East.

I recall hearing how many of the real minds behind ISIS are old Saddam guys that were out of work
oh certainly.
Many officers of the former iraqi army and guards were enlisted by Isis.
certainly one of the largest mistakes the allied occupation authority has made was to not integrate them into the post saddam goverment and society.
