Didn't that turn out to be just one shot from Mass Effect 2 and two from Mass Effect 3 that were actually changed, though? Or is there some other censorship going on that hasn't been reported as widely?
The covered the women up , changed angles to remove any type of showing of sexuality, removed DLC, didn't add back in the dialogue for various relationships that the PC version has, etc.

I've never really seen the point in "remastered" versions of old games tbh. It's almost always just the exact same game with such a slight graphical improvement, you'd have a hard time telling the original apart from the "remastered" version.
Unifying the UI, inventory, and combat across all 3 games is wonderful and that's what a solid remaster should be instead of just cramming them all into one bag and selling it for $$$ with no updates/fixes.

depending on the age and original state it can be an improvement, and don't forget not every remaster is another $70+tip rip-off trying to reel in suckers that are too dumb to emulate/pirate or too young to have played it originally and can't because they are consoletards and at the mercy of ms/sony/nintendo to offer a port.

take saints row 2 for example, which was done by the "based poles" at CD project and is a mess on pc. even mass effect could've profited from a remaster that is nothing more than a touch-up since it would bundle all the DLC in one convenient package (making it cheaper too), fix some of the technical issues and improve support for new hardware long term so you don't have to "remaster" it in a few years again.
however the main issue is that a lot of companies think they have to redo whole parts (either "problematic content" or gameplay for "modern audiences") because they're woketards or to justify they price they're asking for, which satisfies no one besides the mentioned retards because they don't know better. there's even a term for it, "disimprovement".

if you want to see a remaster/port done right, look at sega.

I guess I'm weird. I think the remasters look worse than the originals. Even without mods.
you're not, they do.

Hehehe, time to replay Yakuza Kiwami & 2.
Damn, and i want to buy the motherfucking remaster despite played pirate the entire trilogy thrice.

I'm on ME2 now and no freezes or bugs whatsoever. Well, the Mako glitched out once, but that's a far cry from the original state.

The mako is a whole lot more bearable in ME1 and that’s a very welcomed addition... Almost makes you wish they could of carried it out consistently through all 3 games.

Wait for mods. I need EGM fluff and a better ending than choosing a damn color.

They took away Miranda's sweet sweet bootay and covered up Liara. Fuck 'em all with Wrex's helmet.
Oh if only that's the only change they made to her
They've clearly changed her look... it wasn't great to start with but now it's just weird.

Wait, the steam download still has to sign in with origin?

Way to fuck up lol.
You get a mini-origin client installed on your system, steam launched the scaled down origin which then launches the game.
They did the same thing for Crysis 3 and Deadspace 3 (going to guess for Dragon Age 3 as well but not sure) a while back when they finally released them on Steam.

They went to that trouble, but didn't activate the gay Kaidan stuff from the start?

I'd be upset if I was part of the Alphabet Brigade.

I had only ever played the original Mass Effect on my 360 many, many years ago so eagerly picked ME:LE on launch day on Steam (via Origin lol). Enjoyed playing through ME1 again, although I feel like they still could have done a lot more to fix things up, the game felt like it was coming undone from the seems with the amount of bugs I had towards the end of my run but it was still playable and I enjoyed playing through it again with all the quality of life features added.

I had never played ME2 or ME3 so was pretty excited to get started on ME2. About 10 hours into it I am just not feeling it, can't believe there is no inventory system and so many of the mechanics have changed. I actually had no idea that the series become less of an RPG and more of a generic 3rd person shooter. With the amount of praise it had gotten throughout the years I may have laid unrealistic expectations on it.

Not really feeling it anymore which is a shame.

It's more forgivable when the remaster is being made for the purpose of actually-factually rendering something playable on modern hardware, either due to the old stuff not running unless you're using an antediluvian OS like Windows 3.1/DOS/ancient Macintosh, or because of how accepted control schemes have changed over the years due to expansions in tech (hello, System Shock remake, I'm still keeping an eye on you). I don't feel that Mass Effect as a series falls into either of those categories, myself, so it's safe to default to the contemporary explanation of "hilariously shameless cash grab".

Multiplayer was super underrated. The gameplay and the variety of classes were great. But it was implemeted in a hamfisted way, with the lootboxes and it's contribution to the galaxy at war single player part. If they added back MP with a proper progression system and have it be totally seperate to SP then it would be worth it.

Well the team who did the MP (and later Andromeda) got broken up so I hope you're not getting your hopes up.

Would it really be that much effort to copy paste the existing stuff, polish it up a bit, and throw in a proper unlock system. Could that really only be done by the original team and no one else?

It's also not super important since the multiplayer is still alive and you can get a full game on most nights.

It's more that I don't trust EA to actually have any semblance of quality when it comes to putting in features, especially given their fuckups with Bioware in general. It's odd, because the other divisions of EA seemed to be run more or less competently (overseeing a successful remaster of C&C, a stable stream of games for sportsball, DICE churning out semi-sucessful Battlefield games). But the Bioware division in particular just seemed cursed recently (the ongoing Anthem fuckup, DA4 reportedly in crunch mode, which can't be good for any sort of quality, Andromeda crashing and burning).
