Mass Effect Andromeda Shitstorm Salt - Bioware? More like BioREKT

So, just heard this from a friend who has been playing the game and providing amusing commentary.

At one point in the game, a guy is convicted of murder. You investigate and find that he is innocent and the dead person was killed by a 'hostile alien' (exact words from friend). However, the convicted guy tried to kill this person and believed he had succeeded despite not actually killing this person themselves.

Reportedly the ONLY OPTIONS are 'let the conviction stand and the guy be tried for a murder he didn't commit' or 'let the dude go' - there is no 'prove he's innocent of actual murder but try him for the crime of attempted murder he actually is guilty of' option.

it's like they tried to be morally ambiguous but they ended up failing big time.

More like these people forgot that attempted murder is an actual crime people get tried for all the time.
 
Yeah I heard that it does not give you the same freedom of choice as other ME games or TOR does. These games usually give you FIVE options. Usually extra paragon, extra renegade, paragon, renegade or moderate options.

In this game, you apparently are extremely limited if you want to play as a gay male. You only got 1 guy and that's it. As you can very well tell from the above links, people are PISSED.

And that is why you do not pander, like Takei they'll just go butthurt. Actually, if I made a game, I would just leave the romance out of it. That way this whole mess is avoided.
 
@KidKitty and I watched a mutual friend play the game today.

We didn't even get through character creation and the dude was already pissed.

He's in a meeting to discuss the fact there's not enough homosex, not the fact his game is a disastor? Bioware everyone.

If I made a game, romance would only be available if you played as a white male, and the only romance options would be between three white females with identical personalities and different hair colors. And romancing one of them would give a non-standard game ending where you settle down to start a good nuclear family.

The amount of free publicity I'd get from tumblr protests would let me pretty much ignore an advertising budget all together.
 
I was at the video rental store today, every copy they had was not rented. That never happens the week a game is released. I think this might be the first game I will see coming to the dollar store.

I want to see a game where they have a gay sex option, but if you take it, you get AIDS and die. Just to see what happens.
