The film is just mediocre. I can’t say I am mad over it, but nothing really sticks out and am more just disappointed by how safe it all feels.
That's my reason for already deciding not caring for the xmen in the MCU. If there is one group I don't want to be "safe", it's them. And they're gonna be Disney type of safe.

If Deadpool & Wolverine was supposed to give you a similar feeling to being told you have to read some superhero comic crossover and in order to get the "full story" you have to read every issue involved as it sprawls ungainly through what seems like a dozen titles, then I guess the mission was accomplished.

"No, you see you also need issues #21-#23 of Astounding Space Homos and read them concurrently with issues #18 and #20 of Vengeance Battalion (but not #19, that's a brief return to that series' main storyline) in order to appreciate the prelude to the "Multiverses Multiversing" crossover, which eventually concludes in issues #30 of Captain Whosis, #28 of The Wing-a-Ding Patrol and #42 of Bloodstrikeklawforce,,,and issues-"
tbh I don't think the "homework" critique is exactly accurate. If you've seen Deadpool 1&2 and Logan you'll notice they obviously don't share the same setting, so even the basic premise of DP&W makes no sense, and being all caught up is not going to help with that. SHUT UR BRAN OFF. You don't need to follow some elaborate web of previously-established plot points, you only need to recognize references. But if you don't squeal with euphoria when Wolverine wears the thing or Wesley Snipes says the line or you finally see Gambit from Unproduced Untitled Gambit Project feat. Channing Tatum, there's not much there for you. It's the Morbin' Time meme, unironically, for two hours straight.

Niggers this is a satiric meta movie.

It's less of an Infinity War and more of a Scary Movie. You obviously need more or less specific knowledge of contemporary horror movies to get the jokes in Scary Movie, is that homework? I fucking guess, but what are you doing watching it if you don't know about the genre.

You could say that the Disney She-Hulk actress Tatiana Maslany is GREEN with envy and jealousy.

Is there actually some meat to this or the Brie Larson/Captain Marvel rumors? Or is this just more "insiders say that Kathleen Kennedy is totally gonna get fired from Lucasfilm" clickbait rumors that never come to fruition? lol.

If the rumors about She-Hulk and Captain Marvel are true, then Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are chads for not letting them shit up their movie.

I almost never pay attention to the "press tour" of any movies because I hate celebrities altogether ... But I've been watching most of the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman interviews because they're actually fun to watch together.

And I take notice of the fact that they constantly mention how much they love the fans while they've been pimping the movie. That's basically a breath of fresh air these days.

Disagree.

The first Scream is a better "spoof" of horror movies while actually still being a good standalone horror movie, kind of like how the first Deadpool movie was for comic book movies. Sure, the first Deadpool had satirical humor, but it still had an emotionally investing story that made you give a shit about what was going on (without having any specific prior knowledge of other comic book movies, save for a few Easter Eggs here and there).

Scary Movie, on the other hand, is woefully unfunny garbage. You don't need any brain cells to follow what's going on in that movie, let alone any prior knowledge of horror movies. And you need even less brain cells than that to actually find the jokes funny. I finally saw that movie for the first time a few years ago and it made me hate life, and was I horrified when my husband told me it was considered to be the good one. lol.

Deadpool and Wolverine isn't "Scary Movie" bad ... But it's also not "Scream" good. You need a lot of very specific prior knowledge of at least 2 decades worth of movies to be genuinely invested in it or to understand a ton of the jokes because the story itself is lacking (unlike the first Deadpool, which had a great standalone story).

Again, I enjoyed Deadpool and Wolverine (I admittedly had a stupid smile on my face for the 2 hours I was watching it) ... But if I'm actually going to be honest, if I had not been a loser nerd throughout my youth and spent so much time reading comics and watching these movies way back when, I would not have enjoyed it nearly as much. It's totally memberberries ... Enjoyable memberberries, mind you ... But still memberberries.

Um ... Based?! Ryan Reynolds be stirring the pot this morning ... And we love him for it.

Marvel, if you give us a proper sendoff for Wesley Snipes' Blade (the Blade movie that fans actually want), then you can shut up and take my money.

What do you mean. My totally real insiders at Disney insist that she's being fired any day now. frfr no cap.

Lowkey kinda funny seeing that considering how much of a shitshow Blade 3 production apparently was.

Oh it was, and if I remember the story right a lot of that was because Snipes had just been dinged for not paying his taxes, so he wasn’t actually making anything for Blade 3, and wasn’t able to back out because of a contract, so he decided to make that everyone else’s problem. Least for the brain drain Marcel’s had lately they haven’t had to CGI someone’s eyes opening, but it’d probably look like shit going off the current track record.

Blade 3 is still a guilty pleasure of a movie, but the fact it’s production is probably less of a shitshow than the MCU Blade will never fail to amuse me.

I wondered why there was a lack of footage from the Blade movies in the retrospective during the end credits. Was it because Wesley Snipes that much of a sperg and had leverage where he agreed to do the cameo as long as the Blade movies were not shown? Or did some numbskull in the studio thought it would be better to show footage of the later X-Men installments and the 2015 Fantastic Four?
I would assume it could have something to do with Blade actually being a New Line Cinema film and not a Fox film

Edit: Does Ghost Rider pop up at all? Punisher? I figure Blade is there more cause of Ryan Reynolds connection to Blade III than anything else as it wasn't a "Fox film"

That would make sense. And they kind of make a reference to the drama in Blade III by having Blade point out how annoying Deadpool is and DP responses with "you would know."

Punisher is mentioned as one of the characters that got killed off by Cassandra, but no Ghost Rider. It seems the Ghost Rider movies were distributed through Columbia/Sony Pictures.

You are giving the retarded zoomers here too much credit, i doubt they were even born when scary movie/the parody shit was the thing at the time

Sailed the high seas for D&W last week, because fuck The Mouse.

I liked it. It was a lot better than Deadpool 2, and I enjoyed the Fox cameos and Hugh Jackman. Some of the jokes didn't stick and the soundtrack was overall poor imo, but if this movie served as the capstone to both titular characters, I would be satisfied.

Watching it, the movie felt like the Thor Ragnarok of the Deadpool trilogy, except Ragnarok sucked dick and this one isn't so bad - It's zany and kooky, and you're not assassinating your character by making them the butt of every joke in this case since it's completely in theme.

So congrats Ryan, you earned a W. I suspect that if there is a sequel, it's probably Deadpool & Thor if Hugh is done.

Is there fucking anything to back this up?
Mike Zeroh is known to just pull shit out his ass. Like an insider would give all this info to Mike, and not The Critical Drinker

D&W is good, the MCU definitely held it back from it's true potential though. Deadpool 1 and 2 showcase Wade's darker sides, and I feel the violence was more rated-r if that makes sense (like deadpool sawing through his own hands to get out of cuffs). The violence in D&W feels more goofy. If Nicholas Cage's Ghost Rider showed up I would've sperged out in the theater and given this a 10/10

I know I'm late on this but I don't like the Channing Tatum cameo. Who was ever clamoring for that retarded movie to happen in the first place? Three people on the internet twelve years ago? It was literally just some idea that was briefly thrown out there, like the Channing Tatum ghostbusters that was supposed to come out the same time as the 2016 sheboot. But that faggot Canadian throws him in and suddenly everyone and their mother is cooming because their lifelong dream of seeing a terrible actor who doesn't look the part at all wearing a costume that doesn't fit him finally came true.

Also Elektra? Nobody cared about her in 2005 when she kissed a hot chick in her lame movie, but now everyone's seal clapping over some old broad who does credit card commercials.

Blade was cool, but of course they subverted our expectations by gruesomely murdering the Human Torch.
