Genuine question, how are they going to handle Magneto given the current World crisis? I doubt evil Jew is going to be allowed in a climate where everything is anti-Semitic and we need to protect Israel.

The funniest part of this movie?
It can be even better than Infinity Wars and it still wont save the MCU.

Here is what will happen...

This movie makes gangbusters - Deadpool spin offs out the ass until the character is so milked not even his fanboys will care anymore.
This movie doesnt make gangbusters (aka, it does decently but not mountains of money) - Deadpool will be left to the wayside. Maybe one more movie with him and cameos in other movies.

Deadpool is a character that works best with small dosages because too much overexposure you will eventually reach into the "I get it" territory when the jokes just because predictable.

I dont want to throw a bucket of icy water on anyone's excitement here but this is basically another Guardians of the Galaxy V3 situation. Even if its good, it doesnt really change things in the long run.
I don't care for Deadpool anymore. He probably did more damage to popular culture with fourth wall breaks and snark than any deliberate act of subversion ever did.

I never got into Deadpool and his fans always made me seem like the weirdo for not doing so, like I wasnt "smart/good enough" to get the appeal when his humor is just the same deconstructive nonsense we have been witnessing over the last two decades. He just felt such a normie bait character for people that dont care for super heroes so here is one that mostly pokes fun at them.
For fourth wall breaking 1930ies to 1940ies Warner Brothers cartoons pioneered and owned that shit.

its shocking how we are acting the fourth wall thing never existed until somewhat recently when it was a thing since early cartoons and Im very sure it must have existed even before that.

You cant take a concept that existed for years and pretend its new when you do it.
Yes, but also no because they would have had enough sense to say no.

I'll give Madame Web one thing, watching Dakota Johnson realizing she's possibly made the biggest mistake of her career has been entertaining. I saw some article about how she fired her representation and replaced them when one of the trailers dropped or something.

That explains that look that screams "I need to fire my goddamn agent asap"
Sony: "It's all we fuckin' got! OKAY!?"

This isnt a new thing by any means. Sony was trying to do a Spiderman Cinematic Universe since the days of Raimi's Spiderman 3.

I guess when you keep failing, you must keep trying until you brute force it or you bankrupt, whatever comes first.
Had to look up all of them except for Pedro Pascal. I guess he could go either way. For the others, I have no views on the Ben Grimm actor but I feel Johnny Storm should be better looking.

At least he isnt black again, I guess ?
His wife (Emily Blunt), is even more adamant (you can even say, she's "blunt") about her dislike of capeshit & how modern women are written, so it's probably not surprising either.

wtf, based wife?
Morph's back... and now he's non-binary. That term definitely didn't exist in 1997.

When will turn out he is ass fucking Wolverine?

Lets face it, we all know they know most here have fond memories of the X-Men Cartoon and they wouldnt be able to resist the prospect of finding something else to destroy right in front of our eyes.

I've heard rumblings Magneto in whatever movie reboot will be updated to be a victim of some other genocide so that he won't be 100 years old and so he can be some other race. don't know if that's actual rumors or fan speculation but I have heard that various places. as far as in the show he's going to be a good guy I think that trailer stinger is misleading he's going to be the gruff leader readjusting who constantly butts heads with the X-Men due to their past but won't actually be evil. iirc in the end of the original show he finds out Charles is dying and basically just gives up to mourn him so I imagine he'll just be turning over a new leaf while still having remnants of his former ways.

like I was saying before how they can't do X-Men now because the progressives ruin everything because they don't want tolerance they want superiority no matter what they do Magneto will be 100% right. No longer will he be a jaded man who believes in what he's doing even though it's wrong because he is misguided into being what he hates his ideology of black and white all humans must die because the mutants are superior will be treated as correct because the mutants will literally just be PoCs, women, and fags in their reboot.

I technically have no problem with Morph being “non-binary” insofar as anyone who can change their entire body is kind of “non-binary” by definition, but is Mystique going to get the same treatment or is she still a Strong Woman?

Or will they go with the original plan of her being Rogue's father? (The Aiden seethe would be delicious if they do.)

The plan, to my knowledge, was that she was Nightcrawler's father. And they recently retconned that to be true.

She's revealed to be able to shapeshift so thoroughly that she geneshifts, and so she could get Destiny pregnant with Nightcrawler while mimicking Azazel's genes.

Which I hate, but mainly because of the geneshift shit.

You're right, I misremembered that.

I think there was something in the comics where Wolvie was at a catholic church with Nightcrawler and was very overt about him being like "yeah, I'm not catholic, but I still believe in Jesus"
maybe getting it mixed up with that?

Can you imagine the reaction if this happened in the new series?

There's literally ancient Greek plays that include fourth wall breaking jokes and metahumor in that fashion. Certainly strange that people find it to be some kind of modern invention.

Hey there's still time for them to kill Cyclops, Gambit and wolverine.
Don't give them any ideas.

Even so, there is no need to just throw that out there, and that is the problem. They could have just left it for people's imaginations, but Western entertainment being what it is, no subtlety can be allowed.

there's also literally ancient greek fucking little boys maybe we don't need to do everything they did 24/7
meta can be fun but it wears out REALLY quick without a very delicate touch

A lot of the superheroes have religions, they just don’t bring them up because this is not a Christian show. For instance Kitty Pryde is Jewish, and that barely came up in that other X-men show. We don’t know how much they pray off screen because its simply not plot relevant.
She brought it up like every 2 seconds in Xmen Evolution.

As for will they or won't they mention Kurt's Christian faith, is he even going to be a major character in this? He was only in like 2 episodes in the original.

You forget they were making this WAY before current events.

It will probably be decent if they decide not to shit all over everything and not kill off anybody in the first 5 episodes.

Who's the writer by the way?

but he is one of the two notable actors right now notoriously typecasted in a very specific role
Don't all current big name actors get typecast? Related to the thread, Jon Bernthal is always the fucked off anti-hero. He has never been anything except that. Steve Ogg always portrays a psychotic anti-villain/sidekick.

Beau DeMayo
Hmm. His writing credits are sparce but not outright terrible surpisingly. (At least not on a surface level) He's done two episodes of strange new worlds, one of moon knight, and some witcher stuff.

Could be decent, but I wouldn't bet on him being the ONLY writer.
