The funniest part of this movie?
It can be even better than Infinity Wars and it still wont save the MCU.
Here is what will happen...
This movie makes gangbusters - Deadpool spin offs out the ass until the character is so milked not even his fanboys will care anymore.
This movie doesnt make gangbusters (aka, it does decently but not mountains of money) - Deadpool will be left to the wayside. Maybe one more movie with him and cameos in other movies.
Deadpool is a character that works best with small dosages because too much overexposure you will eventually reach into the "I get it" territory when the jokes just because predictable.
I dont want to throw a bucket of icy water on anyone's excitement here but this is basically another Guardians of the Galaxy V3 situation. Even if its good, it doesnt really change things in the long run.
I don't care for Deadpool anymore. He probably did more damage to popular culture with fourth wall breaks and snark than any deliberate act of subversion ever did.
I never got into Deadpool and his fans always made me seem like the weirdo for not doing so, like I wasnt "smart/good enough" to get the appeal when his humor is just the same deconstructive nonsense we have been witnessing over the last two decades. He just felt such a normie bait character for people that dont care for super heroes so here is one that mostly pokes fun at them.
For fourth wall breaking 1930ies to 1940ies Warner Brothers cartoons pioneered and owned that shit.
its shocking how we are acting the fourth wall thing never existed until somewhat recently when it was a thing since early cartoons and Im very sure it must have existed even before that.
You cant take a concept that existed for years and pretend its new when you do it.
Yes, but also no because they would have had enough sense to say no.
I'll give Madame Web one thing, watching Dakota Johnson realizing she's possibly made the biggest mistake of her career has been entertaining. I saw some article about how she fired her representation and replaced them when one of the trailers dropped or something.
That explains that look that screams "I need to fire my goddamn agent asap"
Sony: "It's all we fuckin' got! OKAY!?"
This isnt a new thing by any means. Sony was trying to do a Spiderman Cinematic Universe since the days of Raimi's Spiderman 3.
I guess when you keep failing, you must keep trying until you brute force it or you bankrupt, whatever comes first.
Had to look up all of them except for Pedro Pascal. I guess he could go either way. For the others, I have no views on the Ben Grimm actor but I feel Johnny Storm should be better looking.
At least he isnt black again, I guess ?
His wife (Emily Blunt), is even more adamant (you can even say, she's "blunt") about her dislike of capeshit & how modern women are written, so it's probably not surprising either.
wtf, based wife?
Morph's back... and now he's non-binary. That term definitely didn't exist in 1997.

When will turn out he is ass fucking Wolverine?
Lets face it, we all know they know most here have fond memories of the X-Men Cartoon and they wouldnt be able to resist the prospect of finding something else to destroy right in front of our eyes.
