I don't know how any of you could sit through what if. That is some of the most disgusting animation I've ever seen in my entire life I tried to watch an episode and thought I was going to puke looking at it. I don't always hate CG animation or anything, that shit just looks terrible. my other issue with the show's first season (which again I haven't watched so feel free to disregard this) is that they seemed to miss the entire concept of the comic. What if isn't DC Elseworlds, it's literally what if this happened instead of that in some event in Marvel history. and none of the concepts seemed to take specific moments and break off from them in concept it was all just elseworlds shit.
 
The timing couldn't be worse for the Madame Web trailer, but I think one thing working in its favor is that for once the cast looks... moderately attractive? The Marvels had three frumpy looking women with unflattering costumes. The actresses here look cute at least.

I mean, it's not going to do much if they're same flavor of girlboss that they usually put, but it's something.

What if looks interesting. I actually really liked season 1 because it had balls and Interesting story's that hit better then the movies.

The concept leaks didn't seem that interesting at first but Ill check it out.

Captain Carter made some very weird people very happy because they remembered Steve was a manlet before the serum. So that's an accomplishment.

Your right. DC's elseworlds was created due to 1. Gotham by gaslight and 2. COIE.

It was always the case COIE choked potential creativity, so they created an avenue for alternative universal theory. Which, unlike Marvel's what if, was more about original stories than alternate endings.

Gotham By Gaslight, Thrillkiller, Batman Red Rain, Justice Riders all to name few.

What if Elektra lived? Which is different from an original world with its own unique story.

I can't disagree. It looks exceptionally bad. I feel like I am watching a slasher movie except some of the characters are meant to be employed human beings as opposed to moron students spending their time on TikTok which is what they come across as. Especially the one that's meant to be an EMT.

As soon as the gender/ethnicity/sexuality of character changes then suddenly their entire history including the body count is erased. See DC with Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, both of them with body counts that would make the Punisher blush.

I mean, season 2 is introducing an entirely new native American hero who they're playing up as super important, so I think this is gonna surpass sucking off T'Challa!Starlord who managed to defeat and 'redeem' Thanos offscreen.
 
T'Challa Starlord was and always will be the most retarded What If idea of all time.

I just want the race and gender changes to stop at this point. That and for a complete reboot.

that is a deep cut from the comics. avengers #200. i don't think the mcu will ever tough that storyline. then again, i don't think the comics ever mentioned it during the carol danvers /captain marvel iteration.

i still say the only way to salvage the mcu is to make carol danvers the main villain of the mcu phase 5. similar to hal jordan in emerald twilight storyline.
 
New cow that really grinds my gears. Name is @DoomBlazer on YouTube. I might make a thread on him, but then I remember he's just an 18 year old still holding onto hope for the MCU.

I also think his channel is a great source for quick digestible Marvel news highlights, combined with the worst takes known to man. Soyfaces at literal whos that come from literally where. He's totally on board with the woke stuff, and says shit like if you hate The Marvels you're racist and sexist :/

The most jarring thing about "What If" is the jank animation. I've seen graduate students render better CG.
