So when they say story bible does that mean ya know… THE FUCKING COMIC BOOK? On top of that they could retool shit for the next century but it means dick if they just keep hiring diversity hires and Rick and Morty writers too be in charge.

Who knew that deciding to pursue the storylines of modern comic books would leave you with the same problems the modern comic books are facing? And I don't just mean collapsing interest due to pinko politics, I also mean the complete lack of editorial direction and the hiring of talentless nepo babies resulting in the eventual need for endless relaunches.

Get ready for more endless garbage!

Some interesting stuff in that article, honestly.

Stars Larson, Iman Vellani, and Teyonah Parris are unable to make the press rounds. Director Nia DaCosta shared these concerns. “I’m hoping I’m not promoting the movie by myself,” DaCosta said. “No one’s there to see me, either. They’re going to be like, ‘Where’s Brie Larson?’”

I know there was this weird pushback against Brie Larson, and an attempt to make her into Anita Sarkeesian 2.0 by certain 'spergic men online, back in the day, but she's the one I as a casual viewer am most interested in seeing in that movie, not the two brown hangers-on. Like her or not, she's a movie star and those two are the diversity hires making up the numbers.

Also, Nia DaCosta has, up until this point, only directed like two feature length movies and one of them was that embarrassingly awful Candyman remake. I'd love to know how exactly her career is in the place it is right now. 🤔

Ms. Marvel was a really well done show (finale was a little weak) and Iman Vellani was very likeable. Much more so than Brie Larson in the Captain Marvel movie.

Unless you're going solely by sex appeal (in which case you might as well just watch porn) then she's far more entertaining than the adult actresses. I heartily recommend the TV show. Best of the Marvel shows - i.e. Wandavision (okay with sucky ending), Loki (not great), the Falcon and the Winter Soldier (garbage). Ms. Marvel at least had heart, fun characters and an actually decent moral grounding as opposed to the other shows morality which was 'this person's actions are good because of who they are and these people's actions are bad because of who they are.'

The villains sucked shit, but that's about the only thing I didn't like about that show.

Thank god someone finally calls out the deranged hate Brie Larson gets. Captain marvel was ok. It wasn’t great or terrible people were just seething over bries role in it

I don't get why they singled out Brie Larson when every actor in marvel has said libshit things and they don't get a barrage of youtube vids wanting them out.

It was pretty bad. Story sucked, jokes sucked, acting was meh.

To recap....Captain Marvel has god tier powers that negate any and all threats until she doesn't. She fails to at any point prove any critic of hers wrong. Jude Law is generic evil dude. Sam Jackson was turned from Black James Bond to comic relief. It's now canon that Nick Fury lost his eye to a fucking cat scratch.

That's shit.

Forget the girl power bullshit, forget Brie Larson's wooden acting, forget everything else; the plot and writing were bad.

I don't think it was just about Brie embarassing herself every time she opened her mouth, but rather, it was a rejection of the then-current trend of millionaire actors backed by companies worth hundreds of billions of dollars pretending to be the 'victim' of hate campaigns to promote their shitty mid-tier movies.

I can't think of any Marvel stars who, at that point, actively whined a out the demographic they were supposed to be appealing to. RDJ certainly didn't piss himself about old white men.

Yeah, even Ruffalo and Chris Evans kind of restricted their cuntiness to the political realm, not dumping on the fans. Hemsworth, RDJ, Rudd were almost always just positive, saying how much fun they were having, and hoping to make good movies; hell even Paltrow, Jackson and Johannesburg pretty much kept their shit to the generic 'go see our movie' stuff. You know, professionals.

Then Larson comes in, saying it's about time to fix the MCU, dumping on regular fans, and pulling a Ghostbusters 2016. On top of doing shit like saying she did all her own stunts (i.e. shitting on her stuntpeople, with an utterly bullshit, unbelievable claim), and that she hates the sexy costumes and hates that the women have to wear them. To the point that even nice guys like Hemsworth and Evangeline Lilly have to come out and call bullshit on her. I mean say what you want about Chris Evans, at least that asshole got in shape and put in the effort to play Captain America. This bitch just shows up...and well everything follows.

Disney doesn't have the cash to buy out movie theaters this time, and I suspect the proof will be in the pudding.

It's interesting that you can essentially trace the downfall of one of the biggest companies ever right to a single point like you can with Disney. It's essentially New Coke, if Coca-Cola had, instead of returning to classic, had just kept doubling down on New Coke and calling everyone who refused to drink it Nazis.

Apart from her being an unlikeable bitch with zero appeal to anything (she's not bright, she's not pretty, she doesn't have tits or ass, she isn't interesting, her face isn't unique, she's not nice or likeable, and she has absolutely no charisma or charm whatsoever), she did something even worse, her acting was not just wooden, it was irritating. She continously made faces like a spoiled teenage brat mad that didn't get her way, she spent most of the movie posing, or being sassy, and she couldn't even sell it, because even through her acting all that emanated from her was cuntiness.

And if she wasn't such a dipshit off set, I think I would feel bad for her or not even care. Too bad.

I still remember how utterly uncomfortable every interview she had with other cast members were, to the point you could see Don Cheadle mouthing to her to stop touching him.
