I assumed Shuri was going to be the new BP, but in hindsight Nakia is probably the more likely pick. They show her first in the trailer after all.

Who Is Kang? A Guide to the MCU’s New Thanos

At Comic-Con 2022, Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige made official what many fans had been theorizing for some time: Kang the Conqueror is the MCU’s next Thanos-like villain. The character was kind of introduced in last year’s Disney+ series “Loki” – we say “kind of” because the version of the character in that show was actually a variant of Kang, but not Kang himself.

Regardless, Jonathan Majors is stepping into the shoes of Josh Brolin and will be causing all kinds of havoc for our favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe heroes, as evidenced by the title of “Avengers 5” – “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.”

…because that sounds like the exact opposite of the character he’s had up until now.
I don't know, I can sort of see this. He was a degenerate who couldn't keep a job due to his criminal record and it seems like having a constant source of revenue like that after years of being more or less a scumbag could be completely within the character. Depending on if they actually "give him an ego" or if it's more a "There's a time limit on this fame and I have to milk the cow as long and as hard as possible, and then I'll be home doing fun Dad again!" approach.

I actually could see Cassie having drifted away from her father, seeing how she had spent five years believing he was dead, but not because of Scott having turned into some kind of neglectful fame whore.

Yeah, dude was hella dedicated to his daughter. Finding out five years went by while he was gone for five hours would make him want to be around her more,,not less.

It is pretty funny they cast Johnathan Majors as Kang. Not that he didn't do a good job in Loki and most likely will going forward, it's just that I can't separate the meme from the media.
Accept the meme reject the acting.
Cycle is complete
We waz kings & shit matches Kang lore.

The BP trailer is absolute shit. It's like they all were secretly (or not so secretly) happy that the main actor died so they could turn the franchise into their own YAZZ BLACK QUEEN SLAAAY! fantasy.

Did you see that used his Twitter account to promote the film?
