When it comes to GOTG3 I think it is going to struggle because people have to be more selective of their theatre visits now. It's an expensive affair and if you are a couple or family you are looking at near double digits when you factor in travel and food etc. For me, it is an easy £30. So I think people will select Fast X over Gotg3 because it's 2 weeks later and in some of Europe that weekend is a 4 day weekend. In the UK especially the cinemas are packed.
I go to the theater by myself and it's 9€ a ticket, add on top of that some popcorn and drinks and you're around 15€.

Clearly, Disney was not confident with it going against Fast X in the long weekend as that is a much better pick.
I intend to watch both movies but the fact that a franchise that started off with car racing and DVD players stealing, evolved into world changing space jumping conspiracy, all fueled by FAMILY and with a possible CGI Paul Walker in the next installment and that is much more interesting and funny to watch compared to another movie from the superhero franchise that should have ended in 2019 is so fucking funny to me.

Sima Liu honestly comes across as an incel, he just has this strong beta presence that is unshakeable. I think it is an issue with Asian men because Asian women are so desirable and honestly every Asian woman I have met has been a chad. I have Asian family members and the same issue the females are strong but some of the males just appear weaker. Oddly enough hafa men don't have it near as bad.

I think too GoTG is just a tired franchise and needed to release sooner but because of Gunn's treatment, it drew out the process. GotG came out 9 years ago and the zeitgeist has changed massively since then, it feels like it's the case of outliving your welcome. Even the actors just want to move the fuck on and go to better projects because they cannot do new projects easily due to Disney screaming for reshoots for VFX even though it looks like shit.

One thing I have noticed in comparison to 2 and 3 is the noticeable decline in VFX and honestly, GotG3 looks really ugly. It honestly feels like a completely different film and its sad.

It's such a tonal shift and just flat-out jarring, there are elements too that personally I don't think people care about aka Rocket's origin.

edit - Lily yes got shafted royally she was easily one of the most likable Marvel female actresses.
Simu Liu doesn't just comes across as an incel, he is one. If you got through the reddit leak of his you'd know it. It's just that when the reddit leaks happened, his other faggotry, which already surpassed Mark Ruffalo as the biggest faggot of an actor in MCU, later turned his retardation from "Chinese empowerment" to the truth of a "seething ricecel redditor who's an insecure beta male".

Also, what you said about Asian girls being absolute Stacies, while men being somewhat emasculated is very true from what I've seen & read. HaPa mainly don't have the issue probably due to the Westernisation killing usual Asian domestic behavior.

As for GotG 3, I genuinely haven't even bothered seeing anything except the trailer. It looks hopefully better than the slop since Phase 4 (except No Way Home), but not as good as the old films, let alone in general. It's as you said, it literally feels like a different film from another series.

For what it's worth, Fast & Furious at least had a reason for it's tone change. The car culture had a massive shift by the 2010's, not just small changes either, but pretty much a paradigm shift. Studio understood they need to adapt & overcome, which led to the evolution of the series to the kino it is now.

MCU wasn't as bad before, but really went to shit since the last 1-2 years.

GotG was a good film that signalled Marvel (and Hollywood by extension) making the same fucking movie for the decade afterwards :
* 80's music nostalgia jacking in lieu of an actual soundtrack.
* Never taking things seriously, always interrupting a tense situation with a goofy gag.
* Generic action-adventure "composing a team" plot.
* Overdose of references to comics/culture.

While none of those are unique to GotG, once it did them they became the formula for every MCU. If the new film finally becomes the first box office bomb it will be pretty fitting.

From the sources I have read and what I have seen it's next week. Managers firing you is a warning shot to investors to remove that person from the equation. Majors are done after this with no references from talent agencies or workplaces, he is stranded. Lede firing him is a death blow, they are a very unusual astroturf that has LA, New York, and all major US cities that film on lock. They are worth billions even though they are incredibly young.

"Despite having launched just three years ago, The Lede Company is already renowned for working with a roster of powerhouse talent and brands across strategy, public relations, communications, and social impact. This year, the firm expanded its content PR division, which has attracted projects from Netflix, HBO/HBO Max, Apple TV+, Amazon Prime Video, and others. In addition to representing global celebs, numerous companies within its strategic communications division are connected to top-notch talent, including Hello Sunshine, Reese Witherspoon’s media company. The agency’s standout team, which includes an all-female leadership lineup, helped the company grow by over 50 percent in 2021. Furthering its position as a go-to agency for top names, The Lede Company launched its Social Impact Division to provide strategic advisory and consulting services to talent, philanthropists, brands, and NGOs to help them implement and accelerate their advocacy, policy, philanthropy, and impact efforts toward a more sustainable and equitable world."

This is a sign that he is done when the suss astroturf fires you, you know it's over. I assume the entertainment division of Marvel is furious as for years they have been trying to angle Studios away from brash hires and to vet accordingly. In the end, the Entertainment division needs to cancel and rethink merch and contracts and they may lose faith in manufacturers since it too cost them money. I believe fully that Entertainments was behind phases 1 -3. The amount of money and bad faith this has caused is in the 3+ billion areas, even contracts will need to be redrawn and I can see talent leaving or signaling to challenge theirs. Marvel isolates talent and chokes it and they have been a drain on the genre for a while now. They trap exceptional talent in long contracts and break them to the point they leave the industry.

I can bet the boardroom is incredibly tense especially after the budget cuts allegedly coming from Marvel not Star Wars.

Is this sarcasm, cause holy shit Ezra sucks at acting and just comes across like a tryhard no matter what he does.
I didn't say good just better. everything Ezra did before BvS is a better performance than Majors entire career. I don't find either particularly good both are serviceable and just fine. I'd be fine with never seeing either ever again there are plenty of better performers

Well, 70s in GotG, but yes overall.

How are they going to worm out of Kang?
They shouldn't. Kang is uniquely easy to recast given that multiverse fuckery is his entire schtick - you could cast Morena Baccarin or Henry Cavill as another version of Kang and keep going and it would make sense in universe. Taking the L on Majors and moving on is the most logical course

They already went out of their way to show that all Kangs are that guy

yeah they could just hand wave it away, but they kinda fucked themselves with this bit of nonsense.

"Well THIS Kang looks different, there is an infinite amount of them"

Watch them make it a point on the next Avengers movie "I am NOT like other Kangs".

They should have aimed to get someone like Cavill who is as professional as they come but no. You had to cast an unknown with a seedy history for your multi-billion production. It's always the diversity hire that fucks up big.

And they teased Howard the Duck at the end of GotG. They've shitcanned/forgotten plot threads before, especially since Loki established that multiversal instances of one person could be different from each other (Exhibit XXXYYY that Marvel has no clue what it's doing at this point.)

I still can't get over the fact that Loki wants to fuck himself.
