Looks like death toll's up to 34, supposedly, with 170+ injured.

EDIT: now they're saying 28 confirmed dead with 166 injured.

@The Knife's Husbando has a point, but that doesn't make the attacks any less shitty or even justified. All those that died were just regular people catching the train to work or just going about their day.

One thing I found interesting was that Fox News, unsurprisingly, was quick to jump on Obama for refusing to act. . .when he was literally in the middle of a speech in Cuba at the time.

Faux "news" did something as shitty as it was blatantly politically transparent? What. A. Surprise.

I see the inhuman bloodsucking ghouls on both sides of the political spectrum are wasting no time.

They have pretty fast reflexes for the fucking undead.

Twitter is blowing up (no pun intended) with news and pictures, like this one:

Initially I thought he was checking his non-existant watch in delirium, then I realized he's probably broken his arm or wrist.

Clearly an isolated incident that has nothing to do with Islam. Obviously the right response is to write tons of op eds condemning Christianity and white supremacy.

As soon as the news broke, my first thought was "ADF Facebook post about evil white people in 3. . .2. . ."

As someone a bit closer to the source, here is an overview I can give:

Around 9:11 AM, the bombs in the airport went up. Two explosions, not simultaneously, involving two suicide bombers.

Around tow hours later, the third one went off in the subway station near the european union government district. Resulting in at least 20 casualities and at least more than 150 injured ones.

Also, a third bomb was discovered at the airport (exlosives to strap on) that were thankfully discovered and taken out in acontrolled explosion.

Right now they are looking for further culprits, assuming connections to the Paris bomber who managed to hide in Belgium for the last months, shut down the borders and even evacuated two nuclear power plants, one only a couple of miles away from the capital and german border.

Shit like this is migraine inducing. Especially as only last week there were elections in germany and one subject was of course the immigration wave, with one rather right winged party getting a lot of votes by people who are actually pissed off about chancelor Merkel's policy, which seems to boil down to "we can solve the problem, by just throwing money at it and being too PC". And no, I am not supporting the right wings, but the situation can drive people to drink.

He's basically repeating what all the terrorists would want people in the West to believe, that they're just "poor freedom fighters trying to get revenge because of the West's oppression :'(". You might have a point if this was Afghani / Iraqi / whatever nationalists fighting against an occupational force, but these people are likely people who have lived most of their lives living in the cushy western countries they so much hate, and motivated by a Pan-Islamist dominance over everything that opposes their worldview, especially those who are deemed "infidels" or "heretics"(for example, Shias or other muslim minority sects who are not extremists). These people cannot be reasoned or negotiated with, and anyone sympathizing with them is part of the problem as they're lending credence to their victim narrative.

And before the dust has even settled, the anti-encryption drumbeat starts up again.

Rep. Adam Schiff said:
We do not know yet what role, if any, encrypted communications played in these attacks – but we can be sure that terrorists will continue to use what they perceive to be the most secure means to plot their attacks. That the attackers could go forward even when Brussels was under constant vigilance for just this kind of assault, shows how difficult and dangerous the threat from ISIS remains.

Despite the fact that it came to light that the Paris attackers used widely available burner phones, not end-to-end encryption, to coordinate their strikes.

Don't put words in my mouth.

The people who did this, and all the other terrorists attacks are the enemy. They deserve to be terminated as quickly and efficiently as possible.

What I was commenting on is how the West's laissez-faire attitude towards collateral damage has exacerbated the situation horribly. We "accidentally" bombed a hospital, for fuck's sake- and then was basically "Eh. Shit happens.".

How is that relevant to this situation though? ISIS didn't bomb Brussels in retaliation for a U.S airstrike, they did it because they're a death cult that wants to kill western civilians.

Maybe, just maybe, we'll stop letting these scumbags into our countries. But probably not, because we don't wanna hurt the terrorists' feelings!
