Then when Chinks, Gooks, and Japs have Wukong, Stellar Blade, and Elden Ring succeed without any microtransaction coin or scams by the simple idea of just making a good game that is a memorable experience they will scree about how Game Science is not feminist or how the UX is awful in Elden Ring and that Eve appeals to the "male gaze"
Don't even need to go Asian for that. The Fallen Order Star Wars games starring a ginger white dude and his Nightsister love interest have sold gangbusters, and when they tried to lez her out in a novel between the games the devs went "Fuck that shit" and had the two go all-in on their relationship.

No microtransactions, no MP, no live service grinding... Respawn actually had to bullshit EA about the lack of microtransactions for cosmetics in the first one, IIRC, only telling them "Whoops, we lied, they're scattered about the maps for players to find on their own" when it was too late to change anything.

Is it any good? I made it an hour into the first one and met the hideous negress that "saved me" and then my character used the force to tell me I was in a kitchen and I wanted to blow my brains out.

Oh yes. She even gets killed by Vader in the sequel after fucking off to a monastery in between games so you only need to interact with her like... twice, three times to advance the plot?

Maybe I am wrong, maybe they are going to just kill Marathon in a few more weeks.
Considering Bungie is staring down the barrel of some serious layoffs, I’d give it 20:1 odds on Maintenance Mode with a Skeleton Crew to fulfill any lingering obligations, with outside odds of full shutdown.

not a joke, not a lie, just hilarious SEO:

I’m getting Warframe videos on YouTube when I search “Destiny 2” :story: :story: :story:

Is it cringe to admit I’m upset? I mean, I’m also overjoyed that this seems to be signaling the death of Bungie and hopefully Herman from Sony as N.A. CEO. But, god damn man. A lot of my formative years were spent playing destiny. It’s sad to see it die with such a whimper, such a controversy surrounding it. It’s like watching something waste away before your eyes, and all you get is to remember what that thing was like before. It’s probably gay as fuck and consoomer pilled but I am very upset at this current moment. Fuck Marathon, they’ll be getting their own little message here soon, bet my life on it.

As long as you arent some rando secondary I think its fine to be upset about losing what was and what will never be.

I would like to congratulate Marathon. It takes a lot for a live service to fail so bad it kills off a rival live service in order to preserve itself.
Were finally entering into territory that makes Marathon a unique flop.

Mid-May was about when I figured they'd have to offload, glad to know their downfall is so predictable by literally everyone but themslves.

And there it is, the axe we fucking knew was coming for the trannies and niggers. Downsizing to make room for the Sony devs and/or the full acquisition and dissolution.

Fries. In. The. Bag. Suffah.

My boy and I cannot stop sending steam charts comparison’s. Marathon is currently less popular than Bloon TD 6 and cookie clicker, WILD.
Bungo leadership should look at these examples, and maybe learn how to develop games without blooned budget - who knows, it might just click for them.

This is the second Bloons TD 6 joke I made within 24 hours, which is WILD.

These quality singleplayer games that sell well are still considered to not be enough by leadership and shareholders, from what I gather. In terms of ratio of production cost to net profit, they want to see numbers as big as possible, simply being profitable is not enough.
This is the reason they chase the live service unicorn that would print endless money. It's not about making good games.

Looking like the s3 rebuild of Marathon is going to basically be Destiny 2: PvPvE edition

I think Marathon has officially transcended that achievement to become the first Concord-style failure that killed a juggernaut
Had Marathon been as popular as they thought it was going to be it would of killed destiny, same thing that happened to Unreal Tournament IV when Fortnite exploded. This win or lose, this was the plan all along.

The game had a sub 10k peak player count yesterday, I wouldn't call that shit a 'juggernaut'.

It's funny that WoW has been running for over 20 years, and say what you will about Blizzard (and I have), they never engaged in large-scale deletions of purchased content like Bungie did with Destiny 2. They have a long list of said deleted content on their own site, content people paid for. Ridiculous. Just one more example of why Bungie deserves to fail.

Some Marathon defenders are saying "Oh, if you'd actually bought Marathon, D2 would have survived!" No...I don't think so.

Well, technically, Cataclysm ended the base game experience by revamping the vanilla zones. If someone jumped into retail WoW and tried to quest through the expansions in Chromie Time in chronological order, you'd begin at TBC because that's the earliest content that's in the game. The classic servers kinda fix this but Blizzard was very resistant to bringing classic servers back at all.
