I have been in some before they are completely fucking unusableI can't be the only one baffled by these >100k user discords.
How does any sort of discussion even take place?

Probably more about notifications, resources, and LFG than actual conversation.I can't be the only one baffled by these >100k user discords.

Ultimately, the shill's math was incredibly flawed.I don't think they're getting the full amount from any platform at all, are they? Do they have their own store like Rockstar does for GTA5? I imagine they're eating a store fee on pretty much every sale at this point.
And regrettably, "okay-but-flawed" is not the "unequivocal home run" Bungie likely needs it to be to save their skin. Conclusion: Its a flawed game, and comes with all the baggage that a Bungie game comes with. But for 35-40 bucks its a fun shooter and if you're like me you'll like the sci-fi setting.
Brown hands posted these reviews.Something else I noted that I find very suspicious is the ratio of first week Marathon reviews on Steam compared to reviews of Slay The Spire 2:
At the end of the first week on release Marathon peaked at 88.3K players and already had 13K reviews.
Slay The Spire 2 on the other hand had 513.2K player peak and only had 16K reviews.
According to Steams average, the average review to player ratio is somewhere between 1 review per 30-60 players (I pick a 1-45 review ratio which is 2.22%).
This indicates, roughly, that 15% of the Marathon players had reviewed the game in under a week, which is roughly 7x higher than the average.
This reeks of botted positive reviews, especially with the loads of odd less than 0.5 hour playtime reviews and when you compare these 88% positive Steam reviews to 63% positive user reviews on Metacritic it stands out even more.
Compare this to Slay The Spire 2 in the same time period: the review to player ratio was around 3.12% during the first week, much closer to the average.
Absolutely fucking not, this isn't fans. Do you have any idea how expensive this would be to do?I wouldn't put anything past sony but I think we can easily pin it on Bungo cultist.
As it turns out, a lot of these developers are functionally useless without professional tard-wranglers.Kinda ironic that Bungie left Microsoft in the first place to avoid becoming a studio that only made Halo only to get acquired by their competitor only to become a studio that is probably only going to make Destiny games for now on.
Bungie probably only had like 10 people total in 1994 tbhSurprisingly, Jason Jones seems to have been at Bungie the whole time, even back in the 1990s.
Just for fun though, I decided to compare the credits list of Marathon 1994 to Marathon 2026. Other than Jones, not one person involved with Marathon 1994 (just 7 people if you don't count playtesters, Special Thanks, and other non-entities like the catering company) was involved with Marathon 2026 (numbers quoted are 300 developers).

That's a format popularized by AI, however it's not just an AI thing — it's so prevalent that people pick up on it and start using it even when they're not passing everything through ChatGPT. And yes, I did that on purpose.has anyone else seen an uptick in the usage of this format?
Game descriptions suck, game promos suck. That's a format popularized by AI, however it's not just an AI thing — it's so prevalent that people pick up on it and start using it even when they're not passing everything through ChatGPT. And yes, I did that on purpose.
Ah, the Trials of Osiris experience. So it would seem that less skilled players are set up to be farmed by naked sweats.
It's not about making sense. "Marathon is getting mogged by fucking Hearts of Iron 4 and Euro Truck Simulator 2" is funnier than "Marathon is getting mogged by Delta Force". Both are true, but not equally funny.ftr i think comparing marathon to slay the spire 2 doesnt make sense
Bungie has 800 employees, what the fuck were they doing during the game's development?
I'd agree if people were comparing their gameplay, but people are comparing their sales and active users. If a grocery store sells 10 apples and 20 oranges, it actually makes perfect sense to say "oranges are more popular with the customers than apples are."ftr i think comparing marathon to slay the spire 2 doesnt make sense since its an apples to oranges comparison. one is a card game and the other is an extraction shooter. makes more sense to compare it to other similar games
