Man… I was gonna do secular hijabi wimple for Halloween and now… mm Malfoid. I could pull that one off!!

*sigh* perhaps a Malfoid *with* the secular hijabi wimple? It is green, after all! But it would cover the blonde wig+ white collar shirt + sweater vest + tie combo that seems to be much of the look (I’d basically just need the Slyth robe and a pair of boots I already have.)

I do think normies would parse “female Malfoy” as a bit more “normal Halloween costume” than “stoner wokescold with a green wimple” though

Doesn't the whole 'wizard supremacist' angle kind of fall apart with Malfoid having a crush on a half-blood like Harry? Wouldn't that make her the wizard equivalent of a coal-burner? Or is it okay because 'he light skinned'?
Yes and No. Keep in mind the theme and the form of the story. Voldemort is not just a "Wizard Supremacist". He's essentially wizard Hitler/Satan. Incapable of love and wants to destroy the world and remake it in his image. It might be one thing to think that certain cultures suck ass and shouldn't be in your country. Its quite another to decide to start genociding them all in nuclear hellfire wherever they happen to be.

Now, there are stories where genocide is a theme that needs to be explored. The most obvious examples of this being "Enders Game", "Starship Troopers" or anything by John Ringo.

Harry Potter is not this sort of story. Stories exist to explore the fundamental concepts of how we perceive reality. And Harry Potter as a story is an epic of the redemptive power of Love and the common nature of humanity.

The gripe many people have had about the story is that the opposition to JKR's conception good is personified by Voldemort and the Slytherin house. Things so one-dimensional and lacking in nuance. This is the other major flaw in the story irrespective of the lack of meaningful romance. Why the fuck does Hogwarts have Slytherin as a house anyway if they are all such irredeemable assholes that exist only to get shat on by the good guys?

Most people are probably not thinking on this level, but for the ones that are, that's what really drives the subversive tranny culture warriors up the goddamn wall. Harry and Malfoid taken to the logical conclusion of it's textual implications rehabilitates an aspect of the story that they can only accept if it is dehumanized and delegitimized. Presenting a chudly Malfoid as someone who can be a healthy human being without reducing that aspect to a shameful remnant of ideological sins of the past is itching powder thrown up their ass-cracks.
Yeah, anime tropes take a lot of deserved heat but one that always works for me is the inclusion of worthy rivals who can evolve, grow, and become friends. A worthy rival embiggens the protagonist. See also Jaime Lannister or Zuko from TLA. When western media does this well you get hits. You are 100% on point for why Rowling didn't do it, and it is one of the weaknesses of a great story.

This right here I think is the real secret sauce. Harry went through a shit ton in his journey. He deserved to get the Princess at the end. Ginny could have been that, but her characther was never really fleshed out. Her depiction in the movies sucked ass, but even the books which still had plenty of set up left her less as the prize at the end of the journey and more of a side quest. Harry saved her from the Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets, which I suppose in Rowlings mind met the need her story required.
As a kid who read the books who came out as they came out Ginny was always a "wait why her" sort of character to me. I always remembered thinking she just kind of got shoehorned in, and thought of her as this sort of random hanger-on whose affections just went over Harry's head (i.e. he didn't feel the same), so it just felt kind of weird that they of all pairings wound up together.

Rowling dropped the ball hard with Ginny. She should have immediately joined Ron, Harry and Hermiones friend group after Book 2 due to Harry saving her, and should have been there for a ton of the important shit going on if they wanted her and Harry to end up together.

She could have been there to help with Sirius in book 3, could have tried helping in Book 4 and been his date to the ball and so on.

But instead she's a nothing character. It's why Malfoid is better because you get the enemies to lovers drama while having a better fleshed out character

Rowling chose a trope that is fine. The best friend's little sister who the protagonist never notices like that, until. But she messed up the execution. Harry doesn't have to notice Ginny until, but the reader should have been made to notice earlier. And the reader is not made to notice until Harry does. Malfoid avoids that because she and Harry are always interacting, there's no way for the audience to not notice and not take a rooting interest either for or against their relationship paying off in love

>Tom Riddle was a mudblood and was bullied by wizards for being a mudblood
>the deatheaters and their pawns in the ministry are all about killing purebloods and forcing the rest to marry mudbloods
>Lucius disapproves of Malfoid's interest in Harry, not because he's the boy who lived, but because the Malfoys are purebloods, and if he doesn't marry her off to a muggle, Voldemort is going to kill both of them for betraying the cause

But that didn't happen, did it?
I do like where your going but it doesn't even need to be political. In fact it works best if its mostly a personal reason. For example not making Tom a sociopath from the start. He'd still have those tendencies but stemming from a desire for attention as a contrast to Harry's first year. Same thing happens when he gets in Slytherin, but after his 3rd year he makes one actual friend, Moaning Myrtle, another outcast in her own house. When he brings out the basalisk to frame the pureblood heirs who bullied him, he is horrified to see her at the entrance looking into the snakes eyes. You can even throw in a reference to his mental magic, where he permanently severs his ability to feel anything to avoid his guilt. That would be the turning point, and the reason theres no love lost on the death eaters. Serves as a good parallel to Harry and Malfoid instead of "love potion babies are cursed."

It helps that Enemies to Lovers is a pretty popular trope as well.

You could also have the severing of his emotions be part of the horcrux process. Make the diary an accidental one like Harry was

It's always the same group of people. "Oh this thing I don't like or understand? It's for losers and if you find it cute, you're a creep. I do not mirth, I seethe!"

There's a thought, especially in right-leaning spaces, that a thing that's good can't be a thing that's enjoyable. You know, proper Aryan Alpha Males don't read fiction and the like, they read serious non-fiction and watch paint dry. Or the more common if it tastes good it's bad for you, so eating something that tastes good means you're a goonerbrained faggot. Like "oh, you had some ice cream? Enjoy diabetes you gooner faggot." The tradcaths blame Protestants for this, but it feels more performatively German. Like we're stuck on trying to be Nietzsche overman or some performative Alpha Male, like those old "What would an Alpha Male drink?" Which, of course misses the point that the overman or alpha male would drink or consume whatever the fuck he wants. He's the top of the status hierarchy.

That or that one 4chan post about Cute Aggression is right on the money and you're seeing a lot of people with underdeveloped amygdala freaking out. I'm incredibly amused by the whole thing. Also that one video with Iris absolutely gets the yearning thing, as any proper 90s teenager could tell you.

The last one is enough.
Imagine getting picky of fiction.

I don't get 'picky of fiction'. I get INVESTED in fiction. And when I get INVESTED, I cannot shut the fuck up about it.

Why the fuck does Hogwarts have Slytherin as a house anyway if they are all such irredeemable assholes that exist only to get shat on by the good guys?
I guess it was supposed to be like an Ivy League sort of house with kids from rich backgrounds who wind up getting into powerful positions, which is where assholes tend to go, especially the rich kids that come from old money. Even without the dark alignment, that alone would mean the school would have to segregate because the elite parents wouldn't send their kids to be sharing dorms with mudbloods. Draco's character came off as a deconstruction of prejudicial elitism anyways and he mostly failed at just about everything. If Malfoid is supposed to be the same way then that makes it even more funny because it's both pride AND emotional damage when she fucks up.

Anyways, mirth tax:

You guys are replying?
Sparing a single sentence a time to kick tards around costs me nothing, especially when I can also bring to the table actually worthwhile Malfoids at the same time (which happily seem to have survived the jannies purging those mirthless niggers while I was out touching grass). On that note,

I don't see it as anything that extreme, IMO it's more like an upper-class plantation owner's daughter falling for a scrappy & talented Irishman, Italian or Pole (who, despite his humble appearance, turns out to be the descendant of Hugh Roe O'Neill, Emperor Olybrius or John III Sobieski respectively). Both Harry & Malfoy are fundamentally of the same race (wizardkind), just as Irish & Italians & Poles were and are generally considered members of the white race, even if they're clearly ethnically distinct from and usually perceived as lower class than genteel Southron heirs of the Cavaliers or Yankee descendants of the Mayflower Puritans. Hence the existence of terms like 'white ethnic'. Sure there were some super-snooty/autistic types that took their racism to the next level & dismissed anyone who wasn't of Anglo-Nordic stock as not white, but contrary to what Howard (((Zinn))) or Noel (((Ignatiev))) might teach, theirs were very much the minority view and ignored/dismissed by most, even one of the Founding Fathers was a Catholic Irishman (Charles Carroll).

On this subject the HP Wiki even differentiates between wizard supremacism (which seems to have been more common & is more logical, regarding wizards collectively as a separate race from the Muggles) and specifically pureblood supremacism in Voldemort's vein, and notes that Gellert Grindelwald - the actual Wizard Hitler of the story (complete with losing to Dumbledore in 1945), whereas Voldemort is more like a Neo-Nazi cultist than mustache man canonically - belonged to the former camp but not the latter. It's strongly implied that Voldemort took pureblood supremacy to autistic extremes that even British purebloods largely didn't share, people like the Malfoys previously most likely didn't like half-bloods or Muggleborns but also didn't hate them enough to want them all dead.

Edit: Wow, made it to 50 pages.

The same people who do the thing you're complaining about reject all actual philosophy and they shit-talk Nietzsche (and any great historical rightist) because he devoted his life to words and ideas, not to getting paid and laid or being a cop/bodyguard/sniper.

"Dostoyevsky/Mishima/Schopenhauer/etc were fucking losers" is core right-normalfag signaling.

Also it's a pretty reliable marker of being a fed (of the soul if not the badge).

How much money do you think we’d have to pay Rowling to make this fantasy real?
Fuck Rowling. Lets pay HBO to introduce Malfoys sister "Lyra" in the second season and have her play off Ginny and the main three. They already have "Black Snape". May as well go off the reservation entirely and do something interesting with the TV show rather then do a beat for beat redo of the movies. May even work better then a 1 to 1 redo of all the Draco scenes.

I wouldn't know, I've never been involved in any right-leaning group that shits on Dostoevsky, Mishima, or Schopenhauer, but I have been around the "True Ayrans/Real Men watch pain dry," types. Unless we're talking about normies, but normies don't think about philosophy and their reading is mostly sports stats, which is fine, philosophy isn't for them.

But I'm on the Chesterton/Tolkien/Lewis axis of the Right, so you know, whimsy and yearning are my bread and butter.

You youngins with your Malfoids and your animus back in my day all we had was the written word for our Harry Potter shipping and the romance was gay with flawed understanding of both anatomy and consent. I had an onion on my belt, as was the style at the time, and teenage girls ruled the lands of fanfiction.net like warring tribal queens.
