But its way more fundamental then that. I keep bringing back "Lord of the Rings" because its the gold standard for fantasy literature. Aragorn and Arwen's romance is established in the first book and plenty of exposition and back story is hinted at. But it is a romance that could not be. Aragorn was a mortal human and Arwen was an elven princess. They could never be. Arwen's father Elrond is adamant in this as well, dissuading her. His own pain at losing his brother to mortality coloring his perception. Him being "half blood" also coloring his position, along with his contempt for humans.
Aragorn and Arwen's romance is an excellent parallel and I wanna expand on this. Tolkien makes it clear in the Silmarillion that love between the two kindreds can't just happen because people fall in love, it can only work a few fated times that help fulfill the doom of the world. Aragorn and Arwen, Earendil and Elwing, Tuor and Idril. It isn't just a random occurrence, it happens for a specific reason that fulfills a larger purpose within the fate of the world, and taking a path of deeper character development for Harry and Malfoid mirrors that theme. They come from different worlds within the wizarding world and their relationship doesn't need to stay at a simple star-crossed lovers sort of level, it has the potential to bridge those worlds and reconcile their conflicting perspectives. I'd guess that's probably a textual theme that Rowling wouldn't be willing to approach from her own particular political stance. The bad side isn't supposed to be met in the middle and understood, it's supposed to be shamed into being abandoned.

Most people are probably not thinking on this level, but for the ones that are, that's what really drives the subversive tranny culture warriors up the goddamn wall. Harry and Malfoid taken to the logical conclusion of it's textual implications rehabilitates an aspect of the story that they can only accept if it is dehumanized and delegitimized. Presenting a chudly Malfoid as someone who can be a healthy human being without reducing that aspect to a shameful remnant of ideological sins of the past is itching powder thrown up their ass-cracks.

One of the appealing things about Malfoid to me is that it allows the character to grow earlier than Draco did in the books. He is basically smarmy arrogant little asshole antagonist for 80% of the books. Thousands of pages. Until the sixth book when Voldemort tells him 'you're my slave like all my followers, your father failed me, now do what I command BITCH or I'll kill him and your mother too,' and that + witnessing Voldemort's brutality makes him decide he doesn't want to be another good little Death Eater cog in Voldemort's machine. Malfoid gives the character the opportunity to be conflicted and gain complexity much earlier
Not only that, but wasn't the romance in the story kind of weak? I remember the books giving more than the movies did, but all I can recall is the one time Harry dated Cho by catching her on the rebound after her boyfriend fucking died (kinda fucked up when I think back on it) and then he wound up with Ron's sister, and their relationship that started....somewhere? Ron and Hermione got the same off-screen treatment as well IIRC. No wonder so many fanfictions were made about this IP, the people that want romance got totally blue-balled.

I'm seeing why Malfoid is being used to fill gaps with that in addition to what you're saying. Someone said that a lot of female readers really liked Malfoy because he was always a tsundere without the dere part. Even though he was a rich smug asshole with unwarranted self-importance, he wasn't evil so he could be redeemed. But as you said, he's pretty irrelevant to the story until the last 2 or 3 books.

As a side note, anyone who says that HP is a 'children's story' is half-right at most, because after the third book/movie it's more of a story about teenagers. The main character goes from age 11 to 18 in the series with a different book for every year so it matures as it goes on. Starting to think Malfoid as a missed opportunity for giving Draco more depth while adding a more interesting romantic element to the story, on top of showcasing how girls act when they unwillingly like someone during different stages of growing up (even if it doesn't work out in the end).

"Lord of the Rings"
Apparently the trick to writing is to just steal other peoples ideas and repackage them.

Through Malfoid Slytherin's traits end up as the the virtues that save the world at the last moment and that house ends up winning the points game. However, Harry mends the underlying conflict between the houses through a marriage and ends up stealing the pride and joy of the house Slytherin. Harry is not the victor or conquering champion, but the healer Hogwarts needed.

I'm never going to read Harry Potter...

Tolkien just repackaged older mythic epics. The tropes are tropes because they work. The true talent comes from understanding WHY they work. Literature is like music. You have an infinite number of notes you can play, beats you can put the notes too, and instruments to play them. But there is a reason certain beats and notes work well together, and others do not.

You know they both come from dysfunctional families but very different dysfunctions and it corresponds to their place in the wizarding world.

It also gives them something in common despite all the differences.

Though any fanfic writer trying to explore that would just make them egregiously abusive and it wouldn't be that interesting.

The way anyone with a shred of good human feeling and spirit smiles at seeing a happy couple with their young children out and about the town unconsciously sharing their joie de vivre also plays a large role
Oh so that's why trannies hate it

Fanfic where Harry is handed over to a Pakistani family after his parents death.
Now I am imagining how Malfoid would react to seeing THE Harry Potter being treated like a Dhimmi slave by the family the British child protective services foisted him on. She might still be at the point where she still despises him, but... A wizard being treated like that? By Muggles?

You say this but there are fanfiction writers and artists who make Harry Indian because "The Dursleys need a real reason to hate him"

So instead of hating him because he has magic, they hate him because he and his dad are brown.

Makes the Dursleys based which I think isn't their intention

this is the gayest shit ive ever seen, the final form of the soy right, with pedophilic undertones to boot

You’re definitely one of those niggers that called people pedophiles for not wanting Ellie in the last of us show looking like a Down syndrome case.
Just because a girl is drawn or created as conventionally pleasing to the eye does not inherently mean pedophiliac undertones. The fact you cannot grasp that concept says WAY more about you than the creators of said art.

And this is me saying this, who is not the biggest fan of Chibi art or overly cute anime drawings in general. The concept just works, and most of the art is creative and worth mirthing about.
