Malfoid is not about chaste love imo. Malfoid and sex is about putting sex in proper prospective: it is special, and for someone special. Your spouse. To make a successful union with that person, the person you were "meant" to be with, and to make a family with that person, for the rest of your life. Which is the surest and truest path to happiness blah blah blah cringe but true shit
This is getting off topic a bit, but its fun, and also is explanatory for why this "meme" landed so hard.
Fundamentally what Chastity is is not a rejection of the desire of men and women to be together. Its not abstinence. The first primal command of God to all creatures is to be fruitful and multiply. But as being made in Gods image, there is a standard. We cannot just be animals. There are parts of what makes us human that is divine, that set us apart from animals.
Now, you can put a fedora tipping atheist spin on this by pointing out human children are helpless for many years after birth. That the caring demands of a human infant are severe when compared to other mammals like Mice or Rabbits. Or even deer. An infant deer can run after an hour from birth. By contrast a human child may start being able to run competently after five years, never mind an hour.
Whether by divine providence or simple evolution, its undeniable that human pair bonding between men and women is essential for raising children, and is also the core social dynamic of EVERY human society irrespective of culture or religion. We are hard wired to understand this, and notice when its not present. Any mythic story in which the male is a protagonist has to have that romantic hook of a woman involved. We could write entire essays explaining WHY its needed, but to put it simply Rowling wrote a male protagonist hero, but fundamentally did not understand a key component about what makes male heroes compelling to other men. Its not enough that they defeat the big bad. There has to be a return home to the village and the wife. And it cannot be an afterthought.
Tolkien understood this in Lord of the Rings. All the main characters got the girl at the end, and the girls were not afterthought. Such as Eowyn and Faramir. The only guy who didn't get the girl at the end was Frodo, and this was explained explicitly at the end that Frodo could never find peace in Middle Earth due to how damaged his soul had become due to proximity to the Ring and Sauron, and the fact that at the very end he failed in his quest and took the Ring for himself. So his only peace could be found by going to the undying lands in the west to rest in the light of the Ainur. Making his end bittersweet, but also poignant as well.
No sex in Lord of the Rings either. But Aragorns kids didn't come from nowhere. JKR never did understand this. Which is why its absent entirely. It was not relevant to her conception of things, and its not a knock on her. But its also why most of her fans felt like something was missing.
