Arch at least has been smart enough to pay attention to alt stuff that is good. He's done quite a few videos on Space King as an immediate example, and has done quite a few streams where its just him and friends doing tabletop play throughs. All very autistic, but its an effort to do more then just scream about how everything sucks. He's honestly one of the more interesting channels I follow,
He can have an 3 hour long discussion with the Feral History Guy about the state of western literature in one stream,
While in another can spaz out about Flash Gitz making a board game about Space King.
He's how I became aware malfoid was even a thing incidentally. Yeah, he can be a bit of a sperg, but I can be a sperg too, so I don't judge him too harshly for it.

I do remember when a lot of them started. They were right, at first. The main Fandom Menace people did point out shit going down hill well before it hit terminal velocity. Problem is it taught them something: negativity sells. All the passion left the room at that point. They cannot distinguish a sincere fan event, because they are no longer sincere. They WANT these franchises to die and never get fixed, because that's their business model.

I was just surprised at how off the mark they were. Usually they have a better grasp on where the autistic zeitgeist is at any given moment. They weren't caught flat by the quartering and Chrissie Mayer meltdown, and that was Sektur drama, which is esoteric and deeply autistic internet shenanigans.
How they were able to understand that but not "malfoid" is a bit bizarre.

He was heavy, bearded, half-lidded, the exact build of a person who has spent a decade refereeing other people's meltdowns and developed the resting face of a sysadmin who had heard Girl Talk. And he ran out of cheese.
But then, a knock.
Mr Racewar 1488 stood in the doorway. Tall. Gaunt. Pale as the loading screen of a GeoCities page. He wore the expression of a man who had read Mein Kampf cover to cover and then, without irony, the entire CWCki. And he had cheese.
"You didn't post the sticky," he said.
"I've been a little busy not being sued," Null said.
Silence. The kind of silence that only two men who have both been (correctly) called a faggot by a stranger named after a Sonic fanfiction character can share. The smell of old pizza boxes and armpits mixed with the headiness of the greasy cheese wheel. Genuine Parmesan.
Mr Racewar crossed the room in three strides. "You know what they're saying," he murmured. "They're saying it's a bannable offense. Making erotic fanfiction of other posters."
"Then they should ban us," Null said, and pulled him down by the collar of his shirt.
The kiss tasted like Monster Energy, regret, and gallium.
What followed had the pacing of a thread derail: messy, overlong, occasionally going off-topic to argue about politics, and absolutely refusing to stay in one lane. Mr Racewar pinned him against the warm rack, the fans screaming like the Farms itself under load. Null's hands, the same hands that had clicked "Ban User" ten thousand times, found the small of his back and rated it, internally, Winner.
"Say it," Mr Racewar breathed against his ear. "Say my post was Informative."
"It was Dumb," Null groaned. "And Feels. At the same time."
That did something to both of them.
Somewhere around the second act the backup completed. Null, ever the ooperator, kept one eye on the progress bar the entire time and finished exactly as it hit 100%. The migration was successful. The uptime held.
Afterward, they lay tangled on the cold floor, a beach towel of Whomp wearing beady little eyeglasses draped over them, the servers chirping their approval like a comment section that had, for once, agreed on something.
"We're going to have to post about this," Mr Racewar said.
"They'll make a thread."
"It'll be gayer than we were."
Null lit a cigarette he didn't need and stared at the ceiling. "Then we should give them something worth sperging about."
