What about a bit of a gradient on the top half of the blue, like a grey or a lighter blue?

Something like this from the 1960s, which was probably what crossdressing elderly hookers were trying to emulate with facepaint.

I love this kind of stuff. I'm gonna try that and maybe use a little bit of dark brown on my lower lid and the outer corner.

I did my annual stocking up on cosmetics and the shop I was buying stuff from sent me a tester of some Japanese hair conditioner. Kracie Dear Beaute Himawari, the pink one - this stuff was crazy good. For all three times I managed to use it, it made my hair feel like I've been deep conditioning for several hours and then put some oil/serum on my ends. Basically it anti-frizzed and weighed it down in the best way possible. I'm wondering if there's some website that compares ingredient labels between cosmetics, so I could perhaps find something similar from a more locally available brand (cause the import fucks me hard when it comes to Japanese products).

I don't know if you guys are interested in this. But it just came across my feed as the tariffs hit China. Apparently the manufacturers are posting everything. This is just one of many.

designer replicas, my loves.

i own a replica balenciaga mini rodeo (black, gold hardware) and a replica small loewe puzzle (the studio ghibli soot sprite version) + a replica wallet and bag charm from the same loewe x studio ghibli collaboration. all are beautiful and pretty much indistinguishable from the real versions - stamps, etching and all - and they cost me 10% of the price. that includes the share the sales rep takes as well - the set up generally is that there are sales reps that have access too/can purchase from multiple factories. different factories each have specialities, and different qualities - it's up to you to do research and compare the factory photos from the reps albums. the reps then check stock, you send them money, and they get the back and send over pre-shipment photos to make sure you're happy with the product, if it's all good, it's packaged off and sent out.

there's a risk of customs seizing the counterfeits but often sellers will triangle ship the parcels through a middleman country so customs aren't as wary about it (from china = could be fake shit; from singapore = less suspicious, i guess). it's a lengthy-ish process but so far one i've found to be worth it - the quality and likeness to the original, real designs are extremely close, and not like the shit fakes sourced from places like dhgate/hacoo/aliexpress. there's also individuals/small teams that make custom hermes bags - these run up the most expensive still, up to about $1300/$1500 for normal leather birkins and more for exotics, but that's still a fraction of birkin prices.

in bong money, with shipping included (shipping being about £50 per parcel), the mini rodeo cost just over £250 and the three loewe pieces totalled about £440, i used the same sales rep for both but there's a bunch out there. i spent a lot of time researching and comparing, and there's a trove of information on *cough*reddit*cough* regarding sellers, factories, bag care, what to do, what not to do, etc... everything.

ik the guy above has his link in his bio to purchase bags through him and with the absolute shtiload of people who have seen the tiktoks and the drama, i wonder how the fuck he, or his team, will keep up with the workload. but the chinese are fucking madmen and always one step ahead especially when it comes to manufacturing lmao. the tiktoks also allude to not having the branding/stamping on them which differs from the traditional replicas, so i do wonder whether the bags etc. will be branded or not.

bags are a big one but there's also watches, jewellery (both 18k and plated), shoes, clothes, fuck i've even seen louis vuitton plates and dishware in a sellers album. it's a trove.

does anyone have good tubing mascara recommendations? looking for something that holds up pretty well since mine runs a lot

Damn, those are expensive even on TheRealReal

For my eu girls that have dm, are the balea and alverde products, especially serums actually any good? I keep hearing mixed opinions and i finally got the balea glycolic acid bodylotion for 3 euro and tbh, it has the same sticky feel that anything with glycolic acid has and it's making my skin super smooth and is also cheap af. So i'm thinking, are their serums also decent and is it a waste to pay like 20 euro for "good brand" retinols vitamin c, hyaluronic acid, etc.?

and a pain in the ass to find at that - they did a few variations, mine is the one pictured below (which also shows the charm i brought a replica of too!)

i remember when this collection came out, and i stumbled across it not knowing of loewe; once i saw the prices i folded and resigned to the idea of ever owning one. it was the first thing i hunted down after discovering replicas - surprisingly, for a bag with so many details, it's repped extremely well.

the puzzle itself is an interesting bag though; i like how it looks, but it is a PITA to get in and out of. mine is only the small size and it's like a fucking black hole due to the lining being black and the flap over the top zipper not letting much light in. it's roomier than it looks as it's quite deep, but the flipside to that is that it becomes an absolute unit when worn crossbody to the point that it looks a bit ridiculous on my lanky bony frame. i love my bag and i feel like my biggest bag dream came true but i'm not chomping at the bit for another puzzle even with all of the gorgeous colourways/limited editions loewe come out with. even better that i got it with that shiny replica 90% off price tag

Has anyone and i mean Anyone tried the hair products from LUSH. I know this sounds absolutely insane but I tried their Super Milk spray and it actually does wonders. none of my other hair products compare to this (and I have a lot of Kerastase, Redken etc) and I need to know that I am not alone lol

Clinique has honestly always served me well, I rarely get any flaking and I have pretty watery eyes due to contacts. I don't have access to my bag rn so i don't remember exactly which one it is but I'm sure it's all pretty consistent

Before they left Brazil I tried some of their products and they were nice to my skin and hair, but I don't remember the exact names because it has been more than 8 years. All I can say is that what I tried from Lush was good, however it was just tea tree oil and hydrating stuff for my hair.

Sometimes I really just want to wear skanky blue eyeshadow and a red lipstick, Blue Velvet style. Problem is, nowadays this look just looks like a 50 year old crossdresser Halloween costume hooker. How do I modernize it? Do I just slap a big wing on top of it?
because of movies and pop culture, blue eyeshadow and red lips (whether alone or together) are always gonna be an iconic staple. I honestly think a good amount of people think those when they hear the word makeup.

IMO, in order to not let it look like a costume you have to make the look suit your features; make sure you are using a shade of blue and shade of red that both suit your skin tone (or at least one of them) by either temperature, vividness or other aspect of color you deem more important. If you want it to be more subtle and go along with makeup looks right now, you could choose were to go stronger, if with the eyes or the lips, and not both. Instead of using only one shade of blue, you could also do a Smokey eye that fades into blue (additionally some black liners are more bluish than reddish when blended, so look out for that).
Also just because they look blue doesn’t mean blue was the only color used; if you want more dimension (which badly done costumes lack) you probably want to blend the blue with a transition shade that depending on your skin tone or eye color could be sandy, brown, maroon, aubergine… just to give it more depth and blend in with the rest of your face.

Clinique has honestly always served me well
I know the OG message was on the topic of mascara but it is true for their other products too. I didn’t want to admit it but man Clinique Black Honey IS worth it lol, nothing compares… I don’t think I’ve ever seen any drugtore or non drugstore lip ever get that natural shade of red right… others may look similar on a hand swatch or the tube, but not on the lips… and never with the same longevity wear.

Anyone tried the hair products from LUSH.
I’d like to know as well lol. I’ve never tried the hair products but I own one of the bodyspray and the scent is so good and lasts all day (which honestly was what I had hoped for because the price is no joke… hello..?!!!!)

Okay does anyone have a good tutorial on how to apply eyeliner

I am way too old to not have at least become passable at this. It always looks like I let a five year old apply it.
Look up SlaybyJess on YouTube. She's a Zoomer girl that does makeup tutorials for beginners on YT Shorts and she's by far the best I've come across - because of the short format she's very percise without sacrificing accuracy. Currently phonefagging so I can't link but she has eyeliner tutorials including a very basic tutorial for complete beginners.

Catching up on the thread so sorry if these responses are ⏰ but I have relevant commentary!

So... My hair is finally more white than brown. Every new hair is pretty much white, at this point. The problem I'm having is with finally being able to grow it out (since I'm not currently working in a kitchen). My hair has developed a new waviness, which I kind of like, but it is also frizzy(?) as fuck. I currently have a cheekbone length blunt bob cut. I've never spent time on hair maintenance, due to not giving a damn about it. Is there any way to mitigate the frizz without sacrificing these new-found waves that I kind of like? My scalp is combination(?)
Hello, me in the future! I'm about 40/60 white/brown at this point and am so tired of waiting. I also have a blunt cut bob and wavy texture that tends to frizz.

I love this stuff. It keeps the frizz down, encourages the waves, isn't ridiculously expensive, AND It smells like lemons.

This one is also good (some might say better) but it's not my personal preference because it's got dimethicone in it, which is something I try to avoid.

I have some dresses that I’d like to start actually wearing, especially once it starts getting warmer out. But I hate the feeling of my thighs rubbing together and I’m worried that tights would look dumb. Would bike shorts or anything similar be a good way to work around that?
My friend, they make boxer briefs for women now!

Also if anyone here is dealing with rosacea (it got me last fall as I entered the final stages of perimenopause) and you haven't tried azelaic acid? DO IT. I noticed a difference within a day and after a two weeks all redness was gone.

Really depends on your skin and how you use it. I live their cleansing balm, but i recently got the balea face oil and it does nothing for my skin.
I think for teenagers and early 20s they aee fine but once you need a bit more moisture etc it does make sense to try other products. Some are great but a lot just dont work for me anyways, but i have a few other products im obsessed with, so i guess they just cant compare

Hair care though is great for my hair anyways

I need a basic purse recommendation. I love fashion and putting together a cute outfits, but I loathe purses so much. I did buy a very basic (and ugly) one at Walmart a few years ago and it's really beat up and looks bad. Normally I wouldn't care, but since working at a new job, I'm trying to look more professional and put together. I know my purse looks bad and really clashes with my outfits, but I don't know what purse to get, I always end up feeling overwhelmed and annoyed whenever I try to go purse shopping.

Any ideas? I'm willing to drop up to $200 for a nice spring/summer purse that will go with all of my outfits. Does such a purse exist?

Check out portlandleather.com

It's my VPN, some sites don't play nice with it. But that is a pretty decent looking bag, it does seem smaller than what I normally go for though
Same, I love a massive bag. But I also love a doctor bag and that color is what I've been looking for in my next bag.

PL has larger handbags and totes, and there's a sale on right now so maybe you'll find something you like?

I've found that as long as the bag is simple and made of quality leather it will always look better than any tacky branded bag.
