Why would they do that to her, they should at least put her on with remotely competent players like Commander Clash or Commander VS. Gook and Other Gook are the absolute worst EDH players I have ever seen.

Also.

We Got Kodama of the East tree..now they absolutely must give us a Kodama of the west tree..so I can change my Mono Green deck from Ghalta...to Kodama of the Center tree..and attempt to have all 5 out at once and become SUPER ASIA.
don't do it, those Japanese Liliana cards must be really expensive now

That is vile sir.

Saying That Garruk would have bad enough taste to fuck Liliana is an insult to Garruk.
Hey those beer goggles can be hell to pay...

Plus we know how much green loves to bring stuff back out of the graveyard.

Remember this whole controversy?

Not only that, but it caused him to go B/G. She definitely gave him something after their "encounter" lol.

Any hot takes for the Jeweled Lotus?

I think it's a nothingburger myself, but Opposition Agent looks like it's gonna wreck the shit out of all the other Eternal Formats and I'm cackling the entire time.

Oh i have little doubt that Jeweled Lotus will probably be in some infinite loop deck by the end of the year.

The larger issue is of course another "staple" now being released at mythic. At least they've kept Sol Ring at a lower rarity that's easier to get.

I am itching to try a commander draft, but I do wonder if these people did any playtesting for some of these.

I think it will be a real thing in cEDH. Most top tier commanders cost some amount of generic mana so at a minimum Unless a commander is in three-plus colors or has a CMC of 1 or 2 it's reliably going to speed up a deck by 1-3 turns. It'll probably be less of a thing in casual where cast your commander -> win instantly is considered bad manners on the turns when an extra 3 mana really matters.

And yeah Oppo Agent seems tailored to deflate Reserved List prices and bring in ungodly sales for Legends really nerf the tutors that are such a huge part of Eternal. I'm not an expert but I could see people adding extra Bolts or Forces as a precautionary measure.

Agreed, Emry's 3 CMC + ability to cast artifacts from the yard makes it likely to be part of that combo imo. The alternative might be something with Tasigur but that deck would somehow need to mitigate his high CMC + ability for an opponent to just not pick Lotus.

EDIT: I somehow thought it added 3 generic, not 3 of any one color. Please forgive my autism.

I think it's impact is highly overrated. a 99 card singleton format makes combo harder to pull off, and it's use is very limited in that it has a chance to rush your commander out early game. I think Lithoform Engine is a more problematic card for EDH.

The problem with Opposition Agent isn't how it hoses cEDH, but how it effects Legacy or Modern or Vintage.

Because let's be fair... it's ability to hose fetch, tutors, and of course antediluvian style combos with other cards will be interesting.

I mean Jeweled Agent. Opposition Agent is tarded and will get Meren Maralen banned.

You can get that combo out on like...

Turn one if you're opening hand is 100% NUT!

All you need is a Jeweled Lotus, Dark Ritual, Oppo Agent, and Swamp in your starting grip.

*** how did I miss that? There has to be some corner-case deck where it's a strict upgrade from Strionic Resonator/Rings of Brighthearth/Illusionist's Bracers and it's at least a usable backup in the rest.

Disagree for cEDH-winning in the first few turns is normal there and some commanders like Narset and Sidisi are basically one-card combo engines.Enlightened or any of the black tutors into lotus is going to speed things up and your general can fetch the other pieces of your winning combo. I'm not personally a cEDH fan but from what I've seen it's a practically "solved" format with clear lines of play and tons of tutors/card draw to ensure you find your wincon.

Because let's be fair... it's ability to hose fetch, tutors, and of course antediluvian style combos with other cards will be interesting.

I think it will last six months at most, WotC's design philosophy for Eternal seems to be "we don't even care if it's balanced for these formats, if it's that bad we'll ban it in one or two months". Just look at how well Breach and Companions worked out.

It is going to be like Sol Ring/Mana Crypt/Mana Vault.

Is it "ZOMG BUSTED" not really in and of itself. However the game play of it will rarely ever be good. It will be absolutely overpowered when you drop it turn 1-2..and largely useless when you use it later. Like a Turn 2 Gitrog is going to wreck a game.

There is nothing Good that comes out of this things existence and the fact that it got printed shows how fucking idiotic WOTC has become.

I don't think Opposition Agent will get banned. Restricted? Probably.

But I don't see it getting out right banned. The reason Lurrus was banned because just restricting it didn't solve the problem it was causing.

Opposition Agent can still be interacted with, and it dies to removal, so there's some balance.

I think there will be growing pains to start, but I think unless maralen of the mornsong starts being a common cEDH monoblack commander, it'll be nothing more then salty tears, not a broken game.

Timmies are probably gonna allow the price inflation thats currently happening and its gonna get devalued quick due to over abundance of preorders

Everyone is overhyping it just cus it has lotus in its name and is a 0 drop

Anyone who thinks Opposition Agent is broken or a bannable card is a fucking autistic faggot.

In EDH : "Oh no I can't just fucking shit out my ramp spells like a braindead tard."

In Legacy/Vintage : "OH no my Fetches actually have counter play now."

Jesus Christ it isn't like Fetches aren't the best cycle of Lands in the game (sorry ABU duals, Fetches would be more expensive if you weren't on the reserve list and got reprints once in a while)
