They're almost a decade too late for the walking dead hype train, and everyone is just as pissed about it as they are with only Uro getting banned and nothing else.
Even Mitch from the Commander's Quarters is upset over it, and I never expected to see him get mad over anything that didnt involve wayfarers bauble.

Michonne is actually sort of good, she is Golgari Voltron with synergy with a very strong Token theme in her colors. (HEHEH SHE IS BLACK...despite that being a Color break given her character...actually Neegan is too tbh)

I mean, the jumpstart commanders are already at a massive price with a much less extreme shortage, and with a guaranteed second wave incoming. Maybe a few years back, commander wasn't driving prices like a 60 card, 4 of format, but that's just not how it is today.
 
The community is riled up because the Walking Dead promo cards are mechanically unique and in black border.

Also I would have preferred if the new Secret Lair was silver bordered, but what ya gonna do?
 
I like the design of Negan - that's a fun effect to abuse with blink, and it'd be fun to make a deck based around giving your opponent useless dinky tokens to sac so you can get some money.

But this secret lair is indeed predatory as fuck and scummy. Everyone liked the Godzilla tie-in bullshit or was at the very least nonplussed; why this dumb horseshit?
 
I think the best part, "best part", was MaRo saying that if the tie in cards are good, they might be added to a Commander product with more appropriate name and art.

Just make them silver bordered like the HasbroCon cards and if the feedback is positive, then move to black border.

That won't really solve anything because if there is a good tie in card..printing a functional copy..just means the deck that runs it can have copies 4-8.
