Hm. Might be time to dust off Demonic Pact.
I've also heard about people being excited to try bargain in Doom Foretold decks in Pioneer for obvious reasons. Usually a Yorion pile so he can reset your self curse enchants. You can also play bargains alongside Treacherous Blessing instead if you are afraid of flying too close to the sun.

Edit: Weeb shit anime trailer

Double posting because shit has been recommended to me re: Beseech in Legacy
Seems pretty easy to string together a tendrils win with fast mana and beseeching Gaea's Will out to do it again grabbing Tendrils for a 10-15 storm count. Is this better then existing storm tech? Maybe. Is it too good? I guess we'll find out in a couple weeks.

this honestly looks more consistent than normal storm, but that could be because this is the beginning of the set playable and people not knowing about the newest tech on the block. I'm pretty sure they'll ban Gaea's will over beseech the mirror if they want to ban anything. I think axing the free spell makes more sense than killing the cool new card.

Just saying..that first Video makes me want Mike from RLM to stream magic..just once.

Sheldon Menery has passed away. He was the public face of EDH.
Shit, I hate some choices he has made over the years, and his discord treated me like shit.

But RIP in Pepporonis.

Edit : Oh For the record Eldraine Limited can suck a dick.

"Oh here is a common card that draws 3 cards and makes a 1/1 So blue players can just always have infinite cards in their hand"

Virtue of Strength is a good card.

Virtue of Strength is a good card.
I mean, in commander in a ramp deck running one or 2 colors assuming you are the 3rd or 4th most threatening person at the table and no one accidentally kills it with something or shits on you with a hate bear and they let you untap with it and you have enough card draw to support all the mana you will have and can suddenly create a board state to kill everyone with in a single big turn and it's a Tuesday and you're a Leo.

Installed Magic Arena because I wanted to tool around with Wilds of Eldraine.
Remembered that I couldn't actually do shit without dropping $50+ to buy card packs and/or draft tokens.
Immediately uninstalled.

Wizards has made a secret lair for the Seattle Children's Hospital Autism Center and they choose Ponies instead of kid's drawings.

This is fair because the Kid's Drawing thing was wearing fucking thin, there is only so many times

"D'awww look at little Autismo's shitty drawing don't you wanna buy it?" that people will tolerate...wasn't there some art on Last year's that got the reaction of "I hate to make fun of Children but holy shit guys.."

I think the thing they did where the one card has the child's art, and the other has a professional reinterpret it ala Axecop was cool.

But, in reality, the pony shit will probably sell a lot more - and thus generate more charity for autists (as well as profits for Wizards).
It's critical for Wizards to keep young autists healthy, so they one day grow up to be as big and bloated of paypiggies as the current crop is.

At least they finally made a not fucking garbage Party Card with Pinkie Pie.

I don't know how much you jest, but this is probably more accurate than any of us are comfortable with.

I dunno I think I would just rather have the shitty cash grab ponies than to have people pretend this isn't god awful, especially since all of the Tism art versions kind of tanked in value except like Birds of Paradise and Sliver Legion.

Barring that red is byfar the worst Party color, having 2 incredibly shitty 'payoffs.' It's a fun deckbuilding challenge in commander, but otherwise has been and should be remembered as one of the clunkiest, most awkward mechanics ever made.

And that it's... silver bordered? They brought back silver borders? Oh, Maro, what happened? Where's your acorn stamp? Where's the obviously fucking retarded idea that everyone no doubt told you was a dumb idea but you insisted on pressing forward with anyways, leading to perhaps the worst-performing Un-set of them all? Gotta feel for the guy - to press forward so hard with Companions and for that to destroy the game and warrant unparalleled errata-ing, and then to press ahead with removing silver borders with such gusto... only to have to admit, oh yeah, that was also a really stupid idea.

Oh, I'm comfortable with it. Autists continue to screech about overprinting and too many reprints and so-on as they continue to be unable to stop shelling out thousands a month on product, so I continue to get every card I feasibly want for fifty cents. I really depend on people with zero impulse control, and a steady supply of them, to ensure that the hobby remains reasonably-costed.

Meanwhile in MTG Community land

"PARTY IS SO COOL THEY JUST DIDN'T MAKE ENOUGH POWERFUL CARDS FOR IT" - Thing I was actually told.

In competitive constructed? It's garbage, yeah. In limited, it's one of the clunkiest, stupidest mechanics because they couldn't figure out how to succinctly word "the number of different creature types among creatures you control, not greater than the number of creatures you control" or just "unique types among creatures you control" and created a stupid gimmick that they didn't even bother to give a single throwaway card in AFR.

I will defend it, sortof, in commander. Burakos / Haunted One is one of my favorite decks, because scrounging for those four creature types among a single color really makes you dig for oddballs to make a coherent deck out of. It's a genuinely cool little restriction. Did anyone ever really play Bellowing Mauler? Or Titan Hunter? Then you can slot those oddball cards in next to Yawgmoth or Dark Confidant or Kalitas 2, and you have this aristocrats-aggro theme. Or you could build around the treasure-making stuff, because Nadier's Nightblade is a warrior and Disciple of the Vault is a cleric. Or you could throw in the typed equipment from Morningtide, and Burakos can pick up the dagger, wand, and axe on ETB and be a hexproof flying haste 7/6 that drains and makes treasures on attack.
