I seriously do not get WotC's secret lairs.

I mean I get the idea - trying to tap into the direct market without actually being in the direct market, but why this whole "limited window" thing? Why not just have the sales be open for the product for like 1 week, and then however many orders are placed, that's how many you print? You've been doing this for 30 something years. How can you still be this bad at it??
Probably legal matters as I think they got sued when they did one of the previous things, not from the vault but the mythic booster boxes with the specific alt art walkers in it. They also can't completely tank the market as then stores will stop carrying their shit as it's already not the most profitable industry and singles is the only thing that really makes money. Also probably why they felt ok dumping sealed product hard on Amazon as most of it already sells at a loss.

While it certainly has its share of current-year-isms, the overall flavor of the Brother's War and its set design is probably the first time in a long time that I've found myself actually interested in a new set. It has a certain grim attitude that I don't think I've seen since the Scars block, and in general the set mechanics and designs seem fun. I get the feeling limited will be a little princely, but eh - if the recent earnings report gets Wizards to calm the fuck down about set releases, it'd be a good sign of things to come if they move away from "we want the avengers furry audience." But I know that's wishful thinking.

If they want furries, they need to make more anthropomorfics. The only one who shows up on a consisted basis is Ajani, and he got metallic aidscancer now. Others are discarded as the next set arrives. But they do the same with normal characters too. So, people, besides MTGWiki staff, don't care about characters. And furries en masse either consider MTG way too nerdy for them, or forsed to choose between commissioning yet another art of their very original oc and buying dockside extortionist.

"only human planeswalkers" coming to bite their expanded audience projections in the ass

Don't forget the speculation on Angrath possibly getting the metalcancer too since he was in the secret lair that also has Ajani, Tamiyo, and Sorin in it. They're totally setting up for an anti-Gatewatch and it's so blatantly obvious.

Which is a shame because I had a total fanfic of a "legion of doom" to fight the Jacestice league. It could have been fun. (Tezzeret, Tibalt, Dovin... forgot who else was I putting in it.)

WotC seems to have gone on some insane idea that nobody's evil, they're just "misunderstood."

It's also funny how each of the metalcancer walkers are middling popularity at best outside Sorin

Meh, there are more shitty uninteresting plainswalkers than even slightly interesting ones. League of Compleation is definitely T2 plainswalkers but how many T1s could they put in there that aren't Jacetace League or otherwise involved in the story like Karn (although there's a reasonable chance he gets compleated next set anyway) or would be really fucking dumb character wise to make phyrexian mooks like Nicol Bolas or Ugin? It's not as though they are really scrapping the barrel and printing Mu Yanling, Compleated

I like the Urza planeswalker meld. So many strats to bring it in reliably using Urza's saga (and artifact shifting shenanigans) and Karn the great Wishboard. To make no mention that each individual card is good enough on it's own.
Now the bigger issue is actually GETTING the cards. Oh and the 7 mana. But my deck snowballs in mana in T4 like a green deck anyways nbd.

But that's little solace for how much they're gonna inevitably fuck up the Brothers War: The Rebootening.
They fucked up 5E after all, and all it had to do was be better than 4E.

LOL the decision not to print Earthbind got it to spike in price.

Well yea, most people who look at prices saw it coming. Same thing with Invoke Prejudice being banned for racism, it hard spiked, from being about a 60-100$ for the longest time to being 500$ now for an English version that's dinged up. Rudy probably said, all the racist, sexist, and gambling cards are on their own special reserved list that will drive up the price.

Even Stone Throwing Devils is up to 50$ a trash common, and Pradesh Gypsies are 3$ even from Sixth Ed.

> me furiously digging up my tentacle rape, gyppo cards, and contract from belows.

Contract from Below is best ante card, fight me.

So, I guess Wizards are actually planning to cash on furry market a little. Plus weeb market.
