Heh. Yeah with everything said - Liliana really does have no story left does she? Boy that would have been a good time to kill her.
Oh she has a story, You have "THE RAVEN MAN." mystery box one that will completely fail to be exciting because there is no fucking answer to it that makes any level of sense because it pre-dates The Mending, and isn't an aspect of her mind..because He actively nopes out when Jace shows up in Shadows over Innistrad.

So it has to be an outside force...that is powerful enough to Harass an Old-Style "We were gods once" Planeswalker.

lol I will legit buy you a booster pack (cheap one, not a VIP or one of those collector ones) if they actually resolve that Raven man story. (seems like if they were going to it would have been when she visited dominaria)

The entire WAR story was shit, How are there so many Planeswalkers in existence in the first place, they aren't immortal anymore and The Blind Eternities has "distance" as Urza had to take time to travel plane to plane to find Elquior, and Artificial Planes had a specific gap between them and the normal Multiverse, So many planeswalkers in instant jumping distance of Ravnica was bullshit.

I didn't read the awful books around War, but I did hear from someone that Ravnica is somewhat of a central or easy plane to get to, and a frequent first planeswalk is to Ravnica. Also, early lore(pre-Tempest, sometimes later) is exceedingly inconsistent. As it stands now, walking seems to be a much more go from any plane to any other plane teleportation, than traveling along a path of planes.

It's also absurd, and I think a clear sign that Wizards was very quickly dumping the Gatewatch storyline(since the movie deal it was probably setting up for fell through) that in the span of less of a year, the Gatewatch went from being treated like literal playthings to Bolas(Gideon was getting bounced like a superball), to defeating him.

Man, remember when Weissman could write interesting, intelligent villains and do final showdowns?

I actually listened to Maro's driving to work with Weissman. It seems like the major fault of those books were from Wizards creative team. When Weissman had questions about characters, creative basically told him to just go read all of Magic's lore rather than giving him a comprehensive assessment or telling him how that character would react or what their motivation might be. To the point that Weissman had to ask for more time to read ALL of Magic's lore to be able to write the story. I supsect he didn't really have the time to do that comprehensively.

It's still better than the famous author(name escapes me) who they got to right the Ravnica Allegence story who didn't finish it until AFTER war of the spark and Weissman's first book was released, and the cards of the set did a piss pour job of giving you any details like Niv being dead or Vraska getting her memories back.

eww booster packs.

I legit haven't bought any product except for Fat Packs since I saw Gideon's Sacrifice spoiled..I only ever buy singles now.

Oh the lore on Planes, Planeswalking and The Blind Eternities is inconsistent as hell..however During the Amonkhet story there was a part that involved the Gatewatch actively "following" Liliana through the Eternities to Amonkhet, as well as Jace "tracing" Gideon and Liliana's mana signature to Dominaria, so you definitely have to "move" through the eternities.

Gideon's spellbook then?

I think i can get that for about $5 now. XD

Was there ever any repercussions for vraska straight up murdering The leader of the azorious guild?

Like i understand she had all her memories of jayce making her a better person through the power of having his shirt off wiped

but as far as i was aware she wasnt mind controlled or anything, so shes just a shitty person who murders sphynxs to get what she wants.

youd think thered be a repurcussion to that. whether its on a personal level with Jayce thinking maybe shes a bitch after all, or on a guild level with the azorious being pretty mad the golgari murdered their leader?

Vraska is being made to atone for her actions by Niv, through hunting down and killing Dovin.

Not really, but given that Ravnica has spent the majority of the past century embroiled in political drama..I doubt that anyone really cares about Vraska blasting The Leader of the folks that put her in Ravnica-Gitmo.

This is the same plane that had /The Rakdos cultists Kidnap the son of the Golgari Guild's leadership, and drain his blood in order to revive Rakdos..who then Rampaged through the streets and got into a Kaiju fight with a Giant blob made of Fuzzy Replacement Limbs while at the same time The Azorious guild was working with the Ghost of one of the Original Guild Paruns to destroy the Guildpact and was only stopped..by The Boros Guild Base Crashing into the Azorious Building.

Also..This isn't the first time that a Guild Leader straight up got kicked out of their position and nobody seemed to actually give a shit, seeing as Aurelia supplanted Feather off-screen.

In all reality..Ravnica is probably one of the worst places to live in the entire Multiverse and getting taken over by Bolas' Zombie Army would likely have been an improvement because for all of Bolas' flaws..unless he has a specific reason to break his toys all indications have been that so long as you don't actively piss him off he is a fairly benevolent ruler.

No really..Nicol Bolas has a better track record of setting up civilizations than Azor does.

I swear I read the Ravnica trilogy and yet somehow I have deleted all memory of the last book since everything people describe sound way more awesome than I recall.

Not really, it was kinda cringe and bad.

Which is a shame cause Ravnica books 1 and 2 were really good and Argus Kos was a great MC as was Teysa Karlov..and Her Creepy Rape Uncle.

Edit : Just as an Aside..fuck Modern Magic for utterly destroying how cool The concept of the Original Guildpact and the Balance of Guilds were in Ravnica 2/3..as well as turning Azor into a Lawful Stupid Faggot who left nothing but chaos in his wake.

Yeah, I remember really digging Argus Kos and even kind of laughed that the put him through the 3 cop archetypes in the trilogy (near retirement - retired - dead).

I remember book 1 having a mystery and the climax of "you're under arrest." (I even liked that the 3rd book played this as a logical paradox that broke the pact.) I remember book 2 about the eggs, Niv "noping" out of there.

Was book 3 so cringe I deleted from my banks in self defense?

Agree with nuMTG not getting what was neat about OG ravnica.

Argus Kos was the John McClain of magic, he was just a cop who got into situations he was soley not prepared for...Even after he was dead

Book 1 : "Fuck this shit, I am retiring"
Book 2 : "FUCK THIS SHIT I AM DYING."
Book 3 : "God damn It I can't even fucking die and be done with this shit."

The biggest problem with book 3 was them having to force The Azorious Guild, The Rakdos Guild and the Simic Guild into things...as well as connecting to book 1 and 2. It got weird and goofy and cringe.

Though I suppose we got a Kaiju fight between Experiment Kraaj and Rakdos the Defiler so..

Edit : Lol another secret lair

SECRET LAIR "Childless White Couples" errr I mean Dogs.

They've announced commander news.

The green product (6 true rates + a command tower and sol ring).

And details on commander legends.

Commander draft boosters weren't priced as bad as I feared. Dunno if I'll get a box, but I'll be getting a lot more than a Masters priced product.

Will be interested in how they price the Green Collection. Last one like this, Commander Arsenal was I think $80, and oh how the times have changed, I was shocked at that cost. I doubt I'd get it though.

Gotta love that in 2 products we already got 3 LGBT shit.

Two Innistrad Lesbos..and Freyalize having Dyke Karen hair.

"spells that are shit unless you've got 4 creatures of 4 different types on the board" as a mechanic VS "this card is either a land or a spell with a minor drawback on either"

Design really seems to have a taste for fine lead paints or something
