It's already enough that the grand tour is slightly coming back with new hosts (picked by Clarkson Hammond and May) but I know that almost nobody is going to watch these new iterations of top gear and the grand tour (top gear especially since it hasn't been good since clarkson's firing in 2015) just leave them alone.

Literally the only way to save this show without just outright killing it off for good is going back to the informative pre-Clarkson style where they just do no-bullshit automotive reviews and news. The Clarkson-Hammond-May era was lightning in a bottle that the BBC just decided to open because they couldn't leave well enough alone with Jeremy and they'll never be able to capture that lightning ever again.

The BBC needs the gibsmedat money from the people of britain, they'll rape any franchise for what it's worth. However the only good motoring show on tv now is motorweek and even though it's ran by pbs it doesn't talk about the gays or lesbians or troons, the only gay things in the show are the hybrids and ev cars that get talked about. And I'll (occasionaly) watch motorweek till the show gives out.

It's priced like a movie, it has the runtime of a movie, and it's nearly as interactive as a movie. It's a descent game movie. There's no news story unless they insist on calling it a game.

I will say though; the part of the game that has you re-enact filming a rager* is a mind-bender. You're directing the camera as if you were there - but it's also a fullscreen visual - how it would look if you were watching the tape years later. A zoomer irl, who has anemoia for '80s/'90s stuff, plays Mixtape, and has the experience of 'the dude who recorded the stuff' that said zoomer has an ache for. Makes me queasy man. Too many turtles down the recursion tower.

*That means 'a big wild party that's out of control but not off the rails', for you younger kiwis.

There have been a few schizoposts in the thread isolating background noise of children and maybe a cat. I have my doubts on neighbors being loud enough to go through multiple sets of walls, sound insulation and the distance between the trailers but who knows, its Florida (maybe) and a "prefabricated home community" is probably not known for the classiest of neighbors.
Regardless, him confirming, denying or explaining away any of these claims is a bad move opsec-wise so everyone will just have to live in suspense.

There are so many good entertaining car shows on “the Internet” now - things like Car Wow for new stuff, Vice Grip Garage and David Frieburger for classic restoration and road trips, and Out of Spec if you like ultra nerdy EV tests.

I never really liked the Clarkson formula personally, the specials were ok but it was always slightly lame and fake TV slop.

And dry car reviews are inherently dull as shit, that’s why the format has evolved.
