News: The cancellation of Latino MLK is in full swing and happening rapidly.

Shocking allegations against César Chávez are creating major fallout (0:12). Dolores Huerta, co-founder of the UFW, alleges he pressured her into two non-consensual sexual encounters in the 1960s (0:58). Two other women allege abuse in the 1970s when they were only 12 and 13 (1:19).



Statue Removed: A crane took down the statue from its base at Truman Street and Wolfkill Street (0:18 - 0:47).



It's not just a few women. Almost 60 were interviewed by the NYTimes investigation that was published this week:
  • Anna Morgia (0:37) and Deborah Roas (0:43) accuse Chavez of abuse when they were 13 and 15 years old, respectively.
  • Dolores Huerta, co-founder of the United Farm Workers Union, breaks her silence to allege she was pressured into sex and raped by Chavez in her 20s, resulting in two children who were later adopted (0:49-1:12).
  • In response to these crushing allegations, the United Farm Workers will not participate in upcoming celebrations (1:21-1:32).
  • Fresno State University has covered a statue of Chavez in black (1:34-1:41).
  • Huerta, now 95, states she is speaking out now because the knowledge of abuse against young girls sickens her (1:48-1:59).

@Null fix your telegram announcement EU time zone. Idk what kind of DST shenanigans 12 PM US East is on, you started the stream at 5pm EU central and I almost missed the first hour of the stream again (like last week)! I am very mad at the internet because of this.

EDIT: seems this really is because of DST.

Summer time in ET started on March 8th, in EU it starts on March 29th. This means next week the stream will start at 5pm EU also.

After the end of March times should resynchronize and it will be 12 PM US East / 6 PM EU Central again.
