So an update to this, they finally managed to get the site's data back, so those people will back back to talking about their favorite game show for the time being

This is the mouse I use. I consider it to be light weight and it has all the buttons you like plus a bonus button.

It's wireless on a dedicated dongle or you can just have it plugged in. The DPI can be very high, I have mine set to 10k DPI and it can go up to 30k DPI.

It's the second Razer Basilisk mouse I've bought, the first one lasted over 3 years before it started getting temperamental, this one has been going for a year and a half with no issues. So while they're a bit more expensive up front you do get what you pay for.
 
Whilst we are still on mice, if anyone finds a wireless mouse with a actually good wireless charging mousepad let me know IMO that is the holy grail of wireless mice

Briar is an existing, well-established project that can use Bluetooth to communicate to contacts nearby even without Internet.

Meshtastic is a mesh networking project that uses low-cost LoRa devices for encrypted mesh communications

Reticulum is even more interesting - The goal of Reticulum is to create encrypted mesh networks that work over any hardware topology - be it HF radio, LoRa, Bluetooth, Ubiquiti WiFI hardware, serial, free-space optical devices, and anything in between.

For HF radio links, it uses a software modem that's a wrapper around the codec2 raw data modes with an added ARQ and beaconing layer [under active development].

The Reticulum Network Stack provides full end to end encryption, perfect forward secrecy and handles the networking layer.
