There was no way to take it without it being super obvious since I had just gotten off the train and it was pulling away. Him having to look right at the camera was a by-product fortunately, or unfortunately depending on how you look at it.

People choosing lives of selfishness will have only themselves in the end. We all die alone, but not all of us die lonely. Even if you don't have your own family, if you lived a selfless life of loving those around you, chances are good you'll at least have one person there, sad to see you go.

I'm still shocked that all the democrats explicitly voted not to deport sex offenders including rapists. Like during an election year where they are REALLY banking on the abortion vote and female safety thing they vote to keep sex criminals. I realize immigrants are their long term plan and women are just their short term one but it's still amazing.

All the young men are turning to the right and all the young women are turning to the left. The first one to integrate both sexes in a mutual interest wins like easily. But the left Hates any man who isn't impotent or gay and the right keeps blaming women for progressivism and even if that's true alienating them is retarded.

Women and men can't do without each other and no successful political movement will ever exist without both of them working together, and even if it did what would it matter? Political movements only matter to further the interest of the people but if there are no parents there are no people and parents don't exist if men and women can't work together.

One of the political halves needs to realize this and act on it soon in some non retarded manner. Someone will, and at this rate it's going to be some type of extremist.

Absolute codswallop. It’s not why young people don’t have kids. It’s because of social economic conditions along with expectations having changed so much.

People don’t want to bring children into a world where accommodation is unaffordable, day jobs feel like slavery and childcare costs are prohibitive. Where paid maternity leave is counted in weeks. Where federal government deficit is ever growing and people aren’t optimistic about the future.
Where women have to work full time and still difficult to get by.
Where one must study to get a qualification in the hope of a decent job, but then they start out riddled with astronomical student debt.
Where in some countries healthcare is unaffordable and a broken leg can bankrupt you. Where there’s no job security.
Where you’re told that you can leave having kids to your late thirties but biological clock is a thing and you miss the boat.
Where obesity and chemicals in the food supply make infertility a common problem.
Where young people are under too much stress at work and under so much pressure that they can’t be bothered to take on the commitment of having kids. Etc etc.
The list is endless.
But it’s not primarily because couples don’t get along.
Countless couples who get along also do not want kids or won’t have kids because they can’t have kids or can’t afford kids.

True, but it’s important to point out that many young people are childless not due to being “selfish “.
There’s a complex set of factors why people nowadays have less children, and why many couples end up not having children.

I wasn't saying couples don't get along I'm saying young men and women are so alienated from one another they can't form couples. also quality of life isn't an amazing argument when the biggest families and child birth rates are all third world shit holes.

Ironically sometimes the people arguing in favor of a racial consciousness forget that in order for Whites to act like White people, they need to do things [rational family planning and long-term outcome hypotheticals]; it's also why higher IQ people have fewer kids in general.

Children are part of the conversation, but if one half of the couple is very selfish while the other half is more loving, the selfish person will likely end up alone while the loving person will hopefully find a better suited partner. I am sure there are also a lot of couples who are split, one wants children while the other selfishly doesn't, and it robs people of healthy children - as you said, the biological clock affects both men and women, with autism rates and birth defects being more and more likely the older the parents.

My comment was aimed toward "people in general" rather than childless couples, as if a couple has no children, but still has each other, they are not alone. PL, my wife and I only have one son, for a number of reasons including knowing that we can support one child a lot easier than multiple children - financially, emotionally, physically being there for them. Raising kids is hard, raising kids to not be selfish themselves is even harder!

The people in third world countries are reproducing at a higher rate due to different reasons. Some don’t have access to contraceptives. They also don’t have the same expectations regarding quality of life. When they don’t know anything better than absolute poverty, they don’t comprehend poverty as prohibitive factor to having children. They don’t have the same ambitions and mentality as people in developed countries. They also have more children because they anticipate that not all children will survive (which is sadly also a fact).

Don't forget that a lot of those third world shitholes also don't have laws against marital rape and have things like arranged marriages. They also happen to have the lowest IQs in the world due to not allowing for natural female mate selection.

Yes, because I'm not just talking about having children. Being selfish vs loving is something that affects all people in every situation. Did McDonalds give you the wrong food? You can choose to act selfish, throw a fit, scream and yell, and ruin everyone's day, or get your issue sorted in a more loving way. Same thing with that old dating tip of "watch how they treat the restaurant staff" - if you see someone putting a waitress under their thumb for some selfish reason, you assume that your date will eventually do that same thing to you.

The nuance provided is "not having kids is not just a selfishness thing" which I didn't disagree with. Being with a selfish partner is hell.

I agree with what you say, but I also think it’s one of the first things couples should clarify when they start out, to see if they both want the same when it comes to having children or how many. So being selfish shouldn’t be a primary blocker if both parties are honest and compatible.
Of course the consensus can change as time goes by.

One child is less than replacement rate and you mentioning comfortably financing one child further confirms that people have less children due to finances too.

Congratulations on your family and I completely understand why you had one child and not more.

I’d love to hear from more young people in their early thirties to say why they don’t have children (yet). Because I’m willing to bet it’s not because they are selfish, and many would love to have children if the circumstances were better.
