Making a public spectacle of your goals is often counterproductive and even if he did do something like this there would be that contingent of people who would never be satisfied with his progress and would suck all the joy/fulfillment out of it.

But just to clarify two things. You didn't need to pause for minutes. I edit the audio each week. The average clip is under 25 seconds and the longest one ever was 40 seconds. Finally, Enoch hasn't really sermonized yet. It has been telling a story. It also doesn't really give the reader any commands until the end basically saying to observe a 365 day calendar.

Honestly, at this point you're like, the podcasts' own personal little lolcow. First the spergy anime letter that Josh salted and burned, and now you've got people paying money (which admittedly is quite funny) just to fuck with you requesting scripture nonsense. It's not about hating scripture. It's about why the fuck, of all things, are you sending in, to a funny internet forum podcast, unironic passages from scriptures that weren't even cool enough to get canonized in the real book? It's like having Josh randomly burst into Dante and old school Beowulf without any joke or bit.

People pay the money because it's funny and you react. If you want to support Josh, just send in regular fucking chats lmao. You can do that. Or be a gimmick account. You don't have to be like, productive when you give money to a streamer.

That's why people are paying money to not have scripture read.

I'm sorry I upset you Josh, that wasn't my intention. If you did set a public goal, I'd take it on your word alone if you said you lost X pounds, for what it's worth.
Really, I appreciate the forum and the work you do for it. I though it might be a fun idea, as you've talked about weight loss challenge in the past. It's up to you, though. Best wishes, and please don't let the forum posts get to you.

I don't even think it's that. It's that they are entirely without context and without any compelling narrative. It's just isolated verses disconnected from everything.

A modicum of effort to tie in a particular verse with some happening or moral quandary  could have been more appreciated. Nool is not even asked to give commentary and couldn't do it even if asked.

That too. I don't even know what Josh is saying when he reads them. Scripture is meant to be read chapter to chapter. It's history as much as parable and good sayings and prophecy. You can't follow a narrative if it's a verse a week- nor should you expect Josh to read the entire thing at once, because that's mega gay.
