Q: Why did so many KF users stick around though all the shit? When so many sites cannot be tolerated to take longer than a second to load?
A: You can hold megacorp sites to such high standards, but aside from infrastructure they really have nothing, So my personal perspective is that there really isn't anything could replace KF. What currently exists to take users from KF? I can't see anything, so really I consider myself part of a captive audience. Quite concerning to have such a power structure, but you, at least, seem reasonable enough.
Also, about cloudflare's comeuppance. By 2030 I see four outcomes:
1. Bad outcome, you are a tranny by 2030.
2. Bittersweet outcome, KF fails, legislation turns gay or your servers are torn down like the berlin wall. Living in the hills of Serbia, living on the goat fields or riding goats or some shit.
3. Neutral outcome, barely managed to keep KF up, not much has been gained, but not much has been lost.
4. Perfect outcome, A contender to cloudflare is born, built on the ashes of a once capital I internet, the capital S Sneedernet is a near indestructible, uninterruptible network that everyone can access and host on. You offer the services of Kiwiflare to the general public, with enough revenue to support a 24/7, highly skilled staff to maintain it. You are enriched with the profits of this server, using it to offer a charity service to otherwise subjugated Sneedernet services.
Also, pecan pie is EXCELLENT. Very good taste!

Heard a content creator explain why they do that and it's a psychological trick to keep people watching. Their brains are constantly predicting what the next word will be as the current word pops up. Each time their mind accurately predicts the next word, a hit of dopamine is released and by the time it's fading, the next word has already popped up and they're predicting what comes after that.
It's crazy realizing how much of this shit is deliberate psychological manipulation.
