My 3 nearest gas station / garage / mini mart places have been taken over in the last year. It’s like overnight, there’s suddenly a dozen surly looking Indians standing around, instead of the old staff of locals that you knew to say hello to.
They immediately made everything shitter in tangible ways to the point where I just don’t go to any of them any more - not even being racist, I’m just pissed off.

This just happened to me too. I used to really enjoy going to the gas station and having a short chat, but the new people barely speak English. I have taken enough time to ask them where they are from (Nepal), and how to say thank you in their language. They seem to really like me, but it's still not the same.
