Just like a political party, Disney is big enough to have small groups holding each of the motives people have listed. You can find the cultists, the true believers, the nepotists, the clout chasers, the trend chasers, the activists, the union paycheck collectors, the self-enrichers, the idealist artists, and somewhere up in HQ one guy who's actually doing the bunker strategy.

What you won't find is someone who knows how to write Star Wars. And you definitely won't find a group talented enough to create an expansive, broad new IP at its level.

Honestly I don't think any of them are thinking abstractly enough about the timing for extractive intellectual vs real property on a specific timeframe. It's probably more like what regular "silent quitters" are doing, accepting the job they find themselves in and using it to fund their outside escape plan. For some of these people, that job entails acting enthusiastic about a shit product, on camera or on paper, so they do it.

However. The malleable wire that you bend back and forth and it gets hot and snaps is actually iron (or quite a few other metals, copper will too). It’s due to work hardening. But not solder, it’s an alloy that doesn’t noticeably work harden.

Oh, and maybe use Google notepad or whatever to get a more accurate take on the pager thing. The details are interesting, you have a thread on it.
