Well now, that raises some interesting questions. The 'house owner' is definitely a staff member, as he already admitted there were staff living downstairs, so this makes me wonder if its some kind of in-patient house like that episode of king of the hill where bill takes in a bunch of alcoholics and opens up 'bills house' and ends up getting fucked over by the non profit group he was volunteering for. Clearly this place isn't taking nearly as much of lucas's tugboat, hence him suddenly doing this cooking and talking about buying roasts. So we may be seeing a return to chef wern. He apparently has access to an air fryer now and is already trying to come up with toasterbortion meals for it. I mean ffs he's thinking of cooking a roast in one with a silicone grease trap. Not a good idea. and this whole 'I might get a roast and smoke it with the house owner' is a weird thing to say. Either he's being supervised in his activities or this is some retarded flirting idea
I can't see mallon place sending him to this sort of environment without a reason. If he blew a gasket and got in trouble he would have been kicked out or at the very least sent to an actual hospital, given his health issues and medication requirements. If anything this place sounds like it is less of a medical related facility and takes less of his money, and offers more freedom. He's on a no rent list so its not a government housing situation, nor do such places have staff living in them like he mentioned. Theres the halfway house idea but I don't see why they would send him to such a place as those are transitional and generally intend to dump people back on the street at some point. The fact that its only 6 people implies its intended for something very specific, you don't set up a house with staff living on site for 6 people without a specific reason for it, which makes me again suspect this is some kind of 'bills house' situation or a low key 'his kidneys are fucked and this is him being dumped into palliative care but without explicitly being told (or understanding) that. That would explain the small numbers, the staff living on site, not taking most of his tugboat and the greater freedom. Otherwise dumping him here and letting him immediately do a bunch of shit that'll fuck his kidneys even more despite knowing he's in stage 4 renal failure is not only looney as fuck its outright medically negligent. Probably criminally negligent given what they must know of his habits, behavior and inability to control his eating safely. The idea he's already fucked and it doesn't really matter anymore would explain alot. I can also see them not really explaining this to lucas, knowing he'd chimp out and probably wouldn't understand or accept it anyway

I can't see there being too many other places that fit lucas's description in spokane. The only thing that is odd about it is that these are not cheap places and would be taking lucas's money as well, so why does he suddenly have the money to buy all this food? Why wouldn't they be charging similar prices to mallon place for the same service?
