Places like Mallon that run on every gov't buck from folks like Lucas, I would assume are the hardest hit now. They probably can't afford a long run like this.

Lucas is among those that would probably be better off in the asylum days. He wouldn't have struggled with homelessness, and he may have to return to that again someday. It's debatable how much better living in a place like Mallon being force fed pills comparatively.

Yeah he definitely would be better off if he'd been in that kind of environment years ago. Especially health wise. As for mallon place I wonder what kind of system they have in place for situations like this if they were to go on long term and start causing financial problems to the point they couldn't cover expenses. I mean its not like they can just dump everybody on the sidewalk. I'd laugh my ass off if lucas gets in shit for wasting art supplies by going back to making those looney videos where he silently records himself holding up those written attraction signs, and told the budget has gone down so they can't afford to let him do that

Also contrary to what lucas seems to think by this quote, per the lore starfleet officers actually did get paid a stipend for general use and shore leave. Because everybody else very much did use currency. Individual fed worlds also have banking systems that get brought up multiple times. a lot of people also seem to forget that Picard, as a starship captain, has to play out of the Federation political handbook. his aspirational quote is directly at odds with the entire latinum/dilithium economy that the series runs off of - a scarcity economy with market forces and individuals (and groups of individuals) seeking to profit from it.
 
Oh, Lucas doesn't like chain restaurants, does he? He used to moooo all the time about Red Robin. One of my all time favorite Lucas videos, is him trying to convince Gen Z to go to Red Robin with him for "gourmet burgers and all you can eat fries".

Also, Lucas has posted about going to McDonald's. Remember when he forgot his change and young female worker brought him his change? He told her "thank you, sweetheart". I remember all this and more.

Lucas really doesn't think ahead with his rants at all. He thinks all the worlds troubles would be solved by simply taking all the billionaires money and using it to fund every social program imaginable to create some socialist paradise. He doesn't understand the US government alone has budget at present of 29 trillion. Once those billionaires money was taken and used up then what? Not to mention billionaires don't have some massive account with all their billions of dollars in it, most of their assets are tied up in businesses, housing and a bunch of other shit, so there isn't nearly as much to take as lucas seems to think. Plus even if you could do that, many people have their own jobs tied into business ventures funded by billionaires. They would all lose their own jobs

On a related note, lucas loves to reee about automation and claim that everybodies jobs will soon be replaced by AI and robots and how this will also lead to some socialist paradise where everybody gets a big UBI and doesn't work, without stopping to think about it and what that would mean. It won't ever happen. Because if it did every worker that got replaced would be one worker not getting paid at a job which means one worker not paying taxes. if a big percentage of the US had their jobs replaced in such a way the governments income from taxes would drop like a rock. It wouldn't be able to fund things as they are now, let alone provide this mythical UBI he desperately wants

Though i'd laugh if UBI somehow magically became a thing in the US but lucas didn't qualify for it because he's a sped on a tugboat and already has his money from that. Lucas would be absolutely furious if that happened

For real. It pisses me off when he says things like “there needs to be a cap on what millionaires and billionaires can earn, not what disabled people can earn!” There’s not a cap on what disabled people can EARN, PukeAss. There is a cap on how much disabled people are HANDED FOR NOTHING. As there should be! Disability payments and supports exist for a good reason, but no one in their right mind thinks that people who are living for free off of government subsidies should have unlimited spending money while the actual lower and middle class WORKERS struggle. Fat greedy disgusting freak.
