There had to have been some level of discipline but I doubt it was much. They did put limits on him, like having to take his meds to stay there and by his own admission he got in shit for violent behavior, which he didn't go into detail about. I'm sure I've mentioned this at some point, but I'm fascinated how Lucas perceives the literal and the abstract, or even how aware he is of what the latter actually means.
