This has gotten a lot of traction on Twitter. Chibi, this is hard to believe I know, but 2020 was just when zoomers started joining the fanbase. Who likely already had grown up with anime. Like me. I grew up with Yugioh, Dragon Ball, a lot of classics. Yeah, people got weirded out seeing all this sexualized horseshit. Especially lolicon.

Yugioh never did that, especially the 4kids dub. And more modern stuff like Demon Slayer- that's just a good story. It doesn't need lolicon to pull in a 500 million box office every time it drops a movie. You are wrong and gay, and everyone coping over this tweet is also gay.

Real. I grew up with Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, Naruto, etc.

None of them needed lolicon/shota BS. The only one that even leaned to questionable was Naruto (using comedy) where Naruto literally gets fingered by Kakashi and launched abroad.

Notice how that didnt require seeing Naruto strip down going "UUOHHH 😭😭😭"
Its faggots like Chibi or Rev who try to push anime in that direction.

When you look back at "the greats", they don't have lolicon. The story carries it. Lolicon is not only a fetish, it is a way for bad authors to patch over a poor plot. Acting like lolicon is anime is a insult to everyone that puts effort into their stories.

Exactly. Its always the story (and a mix of the animation and art through stylized choices).

Anime such as Sailor Moon differ from that one with the 14 year olds dressed up like theyre ready to go to a strip club because they didnt need to go all in on the Loli shit (I hated sailor moon For reference) and still amassed a large following. Now obviously, now they are full of lolicons, but back then they were filled with little girls in love with the magical girl and her friends, being saved by a useless man in a tuxedo

Sword Art Online was 2012, Attack on Titan was 2013, older zoomers had already largely gotten into anime long before 2020 and anime was without doubt terminally mainstream by 2017 when Netflix made the Castlevania anime. 2020 is just when people were forced online by the scamdemic and learned what a hive of scum and villainy the anime community was. I also vaguely remember Conrad Collins complaining about normies liking My Hero Academia back when that was very new.

You don't remember Naruto very well, the worst things in Naruto are Naruto transforming into a naked woman as a 12 year old to get attention from adults and Konohamaru tranforming into naked men as a 12 year old to fujo bait Sakura. Also, Thousand Years of Death is not a sexual attack any more than kicking someone in the balls is sexual.

My hero Academia is absolutely capeshit btw, except it’s even worse because the main character is supposed to be smart but he’s dumb as rocks. It took him two seasons to realize he could kick or how to not explode his bones
